Went to see my hubby yesterday andhe told me that his parole hearing is set for Jan.23rd.(whoo hoo).My question to you all is ..has anyone personally appeared and spoke up for ur pal/mate?And if so, what did you say? I am trying to word things right when I go and am a NERVOUS wreck and just want to (hopefully) convince those ppl that he needs to be home with me and the boys. So, if any of you have done this or have suggestions please I need ur help....Thanks to all, Kristi

I've gone to parole hearings for many years with my pals. One of my pals went before them so many years that the parole board knew me!

In my humble opinion, it is best to talk about the accomplishments he's made while in prison, his remorse, his desire for a second chance, work plans, housing plans, and support system.

One of the dumbest sayings the parole board would say is "Due to the nature of the crime...." Well, DUH, is that EVER going to change? It made me understand the scene in Shawshank Redemption when Morgan Freeman just let them have it.

Thx to both of you.Midwestern that was pretty much my idea.He has a wonderful support system in me and my family,so thats not a problem.And right about the parole time I will be moving(onceagain..lol) Into our own house,so that will help and my sister works at a casino that will hire him so,now all we have to do is hurry up and wait...lol And that my friends, is the hardest part!!! BUt I have learned to have alot of patients and to be strong not only for me and the boys but for him too.and I know it will all work out in the end............Kristi
