| Hey Guys, as many of you know, I have a special pp I've been writing to for over a year now. About 2 weeks ago, he asked me to get some information online from the Missouri DOC on certain rules and regulations on his prison for a case that he's working on. I've been able to bring up the Missouri DOC, but can't seem to find these rules that he's wanting/needing unless I'm overlooking something. Does anybody know how to find this? Thanks for the help in advance. |

| Hey Tupplady, I searched through Missouri's DOC websites and it doesn't seem like the regulations are listed there. I found in the guide for families several references to state statues and located Missouri's State statutes on Department of Corrections. You can find them here: RSMO-Chapter 217 Missouri's State statutes on Jail and Jailers: RSMO-Chapter 221 and Missouri's State statutes on Imprisonment: RSMO-Chapter 558 I'm not sure if any of this is what your penpal is looking for, but this appears to be what the Missouri DOC goes by, so hopefully it is! Good Luck! |

| I would also be a little hesitant to help with something like this becase presumably he wants you to now send any info you find to him by mail? I dont know what the situation is exactly but if its potentially something detrimental to the DOC there, could be problems when they see that come through. Hopefully not but you never know.

| Legally they cannot stop it but ... knowing DOCs as I do It is hard to say what will be allowed and what is not . I would not send any newspaper clippings despite what a DOC site says . Instead get that off the internet using the copy and paste method . If they have a court appointed attorney it might be possible to contact that person with the inmates permission of course . and ask them to pass along what they know . DOCs cannot stop or read legal mail

| well, you are correct, in fact, i received an email from someone that ask if i ever sent his legal work bk, in fact, this was like YEARS ago. he email his aunt, when she contacted me, i told her that i sent that bk along time ago, and before he was transferred, he wrote and said he was getting what i had already sent. this is one reason why i ask them to never send me the original court papers. there is always a chance for this to happen. |

| I guess i would just hate to feel responsible for causing any harm to my pal. We all know that sure, legally, they can not be denied information and paperwork, but from a not so legal standpoint. It could give rise to some kind of retaliation for any made up reason as a means to "shut it down". Thats all im saying here and I think someone had posted a safe way to send information of this kind. It was like a way to send it certified, meaning more than just the mail room would know the inmate received this information and therefore, make any later problems much more suspicious. I cant remember who posted that though and what they did.
