I have noticed that there has been some media requests, and I was wondering if anyone has answerd some of the requests? None have been in my area, but if there was one I would go for it! If one was in your area would you?

I have heard a few who have answered but have nevr received replys, so not sure what's up with that

I know that I wouldn't mind talking to the media and sharing my wonderful experience with my PP, and hopefully showing it in the true light. I know that there has been recent discussion of some TV freak show, where people, who write to prisoners, were kind of displayed as goof balls. I would hope that all media people aren't like that. But, like you, Misty, there haven't been any offers in my area.

Please all take care when speaking to the media, in all the years I've been involved in the prison stuff the majority of the coverage has been negative. They were always trying to link me up with one special guy always looking for a 'Lover on death row' theme so they could then twist it to make me look like a sad basket case etc.
I only stayed afloat in the media world because they could never link me to any special prisoner other than through a human rights issue. Now I dont want to be a wet blanket on all of this because here and there you DO find the odd producer who is sympathetic towards the real issues. BUT having said that romance doesn't sell papers or bring in viewers the way good old hard hitting mud slinging does. Just take care who you speak to because your words WILL be twisted and taken way out of context. Just thought I would throw in my little bit as I do here and there (smile)

By the way over the years I've done over a dozen TV shows and refused to go on a couple when it was obvious the whole thing was a ploy to try and show people who write to prisoners as 'sad and pathetic people who need to get a life of their own'
