Default Mail rules. Help!

I got a letter back today because I forgot to put his number on (dumb dumb). So I wrote another letter to go with the returned one, and I also have a birthday card.

Can I use express post? I don't think it requires a sig.

Also I had already stamped the envelope for the card, but was just going to put it in the express envelope, I wrote a little note on the back saying I changed my mind about sending it normal post and that I couldn't get the stamp of, will that be a problem??

Anyone? I've to go to the post office before it closes, I think it's to early to ring the prison. I don't like ringing anyway, they can never understand me.

i have sent express mail before and it may get to the prison faster but they treat it the same as any other mail when it gets there to be honest i have found its a waste of money. i sent 2 exact letters one express (costing $18.00) and one not he recieved the non express letter first. To clarify this is a prison in California.

Cool, I'm sending from Ireland so as long as it gets to the States faster I don't mind if it is treated as normal once it gets there. It will still get to him quicker than normal post I think?
Thanks for the info

I just called the prison.....jasus that was painful. He couldn't understand me and I coudn't understand him, then when I get nervous because I can't be understood I start talking really fast.
I'm just going to ask my PP for the rules.
