Welcome to the forum Kikashi

Normally it is not a good idea for many reasons, but Sabricent had already wrote and got a letter back from both. So, it would be even worse to leave one unanswered.
The thing that "may" help it work easier, is one is on DR the other is not.
Not much chance of them crossing paths in the general population of prison.
It may when she lets them know even w/o using names, make them feel what they share in letters, may be more reserved in what they share thru letters.

Hope Sabricent shares with us how it turns out, on finding she is writing two there in the same prison??

I agree with sunray's wench. Since the deed is done, it can't be undone. But, both PPs are now in hopes that they have found a new friend. I would continue to write to both of them and not tell either one about the other. There is no sense in kicking a sleeping cat. If it does become an issue, then I would offer apologies for making a mistake and still keep writing, to both of them, unless they wish to drop you as a PP. Just don't show any favorites. Good luck with it.

Here is an update:
Until recently, one of my penpals was in closed custody and one was in population.

I got a letter a week ago from the PP in CC; she is now in population too. Yay for her! More privileges, greater freedom, etc.

Got a letter today from my other PP - the one who was always in population. She knows the PP from CC; they now share a dorm. Somehow she discovered that they have a PP in common (i.e. me), but she did say anything to her new roommate. But the letter I rec.'d today was written more than a week ago - it's possible that by now they both know.

*************

I don't think that there is anything that either of them can fault me for. I've been 100% up front and honest with both of them from the start about this situation. Both have indicated they are ok with the situation (more or less).

However, one or both of them may now be uncomfortable being in "close proximity" to the other.

The most graceful way for me to handle this situation is to wait and see what they want to do. If either of them wants to stop writing to me, I will respect her decision. But if either of them wants me to stop writing to the other, my answer will be a flat out "no".

*************

I did not post this looking for advice. I feel very clear about how I am going to handle it.

I posted this to share my experiences involving writing to more than one inmate at the same facility. Because I know some people have opinions on the subject, and I know others have searched here looking for advice on the subject...perhaps this will be helpful to someone.

I will keep you all notified of any future developments, good or bad.

Well it's been a couple weeks since my first letters arrived. The first guy I wrote back had no problem with it what's so ever, just barely mentioned it and said he didn't see how it would be a problem.

It does turn out that both of them are on DR, I need to look more closely at profiles. I have not heard back from the second pp, but I sent his letter several days after the first.

I am hoping that it won't be an issue for either of them. But only time will tell.

To Kikashi: I am surprised that your two pp's ended up in the same dorm. Has your pp expressed why that is an issue for her? Is she just curious? Please keep us updated if they mention it again.

I was the same, a naive mistake, and never would want to do anything hurtful to my pals.

Thanks to all for the advice. I'll let you know if I receive a reply from the second pp.

i dont see a problem either. one being in GP the other on DP.

How ever, I always make it a rule never to discuss who I write to and who I dont. IF they ask, then of course i am honest about it but reassure them that by no means do i share any information concerning our letters with any one.

You never know, Kikashi. They may get to know one another and become good friends. I can just see the three of you, sitting in a sidewalk cafe, and laughing about old times, in prison.

My wife and I are polyamorous, so the idea is not so far-fetched. It is a nice thought, Xray, thank you.

Unfortunately, I have a feeling one or both of them is going to be unhappy. (This feeling is based more on reading about the past experiences of others here on this message board than on any vibe I'm getting from my PP's - yet.)

But as you know, dealing with mail, there's a lot of waiting. I can't bring myself to feel stress while I'm waiting - what will be, will be. But I have not forgotten that I promised to update you all when I hear back from my PP's.
