As many of you know, WriteAPrisoner.com filed a lawsuit against the state of Florida for barring inmates from seeking pen-pals. This lawsuit is now making its way into the media, and we'd greatly appreciate you sharing any positive experiences you've had with writing inmates in the comment's section of the articles. It's important to let others know that these people are loved and represented by all of us. Here is a current list:

I think it is great that WAP would stand up for these men and women.

It is so sad how so many people would want to deny these offenders a chance to grow and develop and seek stable support. Those are the key ingredients in 'rehabilitation'.

i read the first link in the first post and the comments really pissed me off.

i am printing out my letters and mailing them. I hope this turns out in our favor.

The article in the first link seemed to be dripping with emotion rather than legal precident. I also read the comments people posted on the article. It's scary, how some people think. I know how much I have come around since I started writing my pp. I see Florida is full of the "lock them up and throw away the key" mentality. So, is there a form letter to just print off and sign? Does anyone have that, or is it on WAP? This whole situation is rather unfortunate. It's interesting with the status of the economy, the war, etc, that polliticians have time to pursue this matter. Anyway, I do wish all those invovled in this suit luck, and hopefully Folrida inmates are not further ostrasized by being banned from having pp's. Oh, what am I talking about, these inmates don't really need penpals, after all they have letters and visits from all of their friends and family (what an enlightened view someone posted on the first link).

The responses show a frighting lack of basic knowledge of our rights an the Constitution.

FL DOC already had and has rules and sanctions in place for those who scam PPs . No need for this kind of law the sate is going to lose and cost the taxpayers a lot of money that cold be better spent . These suits run into the millions .
