Juveniles Visits after death row.... I spoke with the Deputy Warden(Maj. Nelson.) at Polunsky today on something way off of the reason for the conversation, and she was kind to give me a lot of information regarding the juveniles, and I thought I would share with you all.
The juveniles will eventually be eligible for contact visits once they are in the general population. They behavior, classification (I can’t remember what she called it, she said it was the ‘risk level’), and sentence length will all be a factor on if and when they are granted the visits. Basically, when they get into the GP they are being watched to see if they will maintain the same behavior, be it good or bad, that they had while on Death Row. Obviously the better the behavior, the better the odds are for their contact visits.
In addition, the contact visits will be for family only. In the event the family can not visit, they (the inmate), has to request or apply for the ‘friend’ to have contact visits. Normally if there is any family living that is not elderly or disabled, it is rare for this to be approved for a friend, but there is still a slither of a chance it could be approved.
I just wanted to share with you all.
Have a great day,
Skye
