Talking Just curious

Ok I have seen the question asking why you chose your pen-pal, but have not seen one asking how many pen-pals and are the in the same state as you or did you choose other states?

As for me, I have 3 pen-pals right now. But have just sent out 4 more letters so hoping to have a couple more soon. Of the three I have now 2 are in the same state and 1 is across the country. Of the 4 that I just sent out, 1 is in the same state as me but the others are in near by states. Thought maybe this way I could get a letter everyday instead of having 2 or 3 days in between letters, since I am like a kid and waiting by the mailbox everyday waiting to see if I got anything lol.

So what about the rest of you guys??

Hi Gemma2656

I write to 3 all in different states, I would love to get a letter in 2-3 days, lol.

I am in England so it takes about 2 weeks to get a reply, 1 of my pals we write at least once a week, so the letters don't always correspond, questions get asked and answered twice sometimes, lol, but keeps the flow of mail coming, he was writing 2-3 times a week, but with study, appeal and some new people writing at present it is once a week for a couple of months.

That will be lovely if you get mail everyday, and I know people who do write everyday but remember they can be busy too or not have enough money for stamps, being abroad it costs more in postage so I don't expect them to write every day.

Let us know when you get a reply, still addicted to the feeling of new letters coming through the door.

Happy writing

Fairy xx

I write to 3 guys on death row in different states of the US and another who has a couple of years before his release in another US state. I am writing letters from Germany, and a letter needs from 5 to 16 days until it reaches me.
Sometimes it really drives me crazy if it really tooks as long time.

Everytime I don't receive mail for a couple of days I think aboout starting a new pen-friendship- but the other day, there is at least one letter in my mailbox.
but I'm also writing letters to 6 females in Germany who are not imprisoned - they help me to fill the rest of my spare time with letters.

I write to 10 different inmates in the States. But I'm thinking about slowing down to 7 because of different reasons.
4 are in CA,
3 in TX,
2 in KS,
1 in NY

Most of them write once a week so I have always someone to write to. And sometimes it's almost too much. But I do my best to keep up with them.

I ONLY wrote to people living far, far away from me. lol. I guess I kind of had a fear of them getting released and coming to see me against my will. I figured that if they live that far, they wouldn't risk skipping out on Parole (and being sent back to prison) just to visit a PP.

... i think i also had a small fear of them breaking out of prison to find me. hahaha. I spent too much time watching "Prison Break" in those days, I guess.

Haha I guess i am glad I never watched Prison break. I do not feel that way. I am just the type of person who wants to help so I have no problem writing those close to me. The one I am planning to visit next month is only 20 mins from me. The other is like 4 or 5 hrs, then the third is clear across the country. But I can understand everyone has different reasons for their choices, that why I wanted to see everyones response.

yeah, I get what you're saying. That makes sense. For me though, I had no intentions on EVER meeting him. I just wanted to be his buddy while incarcerated. My only intentions were to share a friendship through letters and nothing else. So because of that, I did not want him nearby. Of course, it didn't quite turn out according to plan, since I ended up meeting him anyhow and had to travel ACROSS THE FREAKIN' COUNTRY to do it! lol. Go figure!!

wow I wish I could do that, but I have limited income so can't travel that far. Already had the one who is 4 or 5 hrs asking me to visit and I had to tell him no because I can't afford to travel that far and get a hotel room. I hate it because I know he would like it very much, since he says his family will not write him since he is locked up. But I just can't afford to go that far.

I seek just friendship and cannot afford to support many indigents so these totals change all the time (I have been writing gay inamtes for 24 yrs) as of today I write: TX =2, FL=4, OR=2, 1 each for IA, IL, KS, MO, PA, VA and SD(lifer). I also write to free world folks and currently just one older fellow in Austrailia. From th e time I send a letter to when I get a response to that letter is about 2 weeks as this town has an intercontinental airport where mail flows well in & out. (elephant is sooo cute).
