if anyone is out of ideas and looking for something new try http://maps.google.com then type in your address or somewhere where you know your penpal wants to visit or whatever you can imagine. Once you pull the map up you can use the satellite view and go in for a closeup. I just did it and am sending all my pp's a picture of the Statue of Liberty. It's really cool you can tell she is there underneath the satellite standing tall and proud. I also googled my home address and was able to get a close enough so Tre can see my car in the driveway! I have a white car and it shows up perfectly! How cool is that??

Interesting fact, everytime I try to locate a prison the satellite can never get close enough. Wonder how they manage that? hehe

Oh, I'm having fun with this! For all those WI and IL residents put in Gurnee, IL and you can actually see SIX FLAGS GREAT AMERICA!

This is a good idea. It would be worth checking with your pals if you can send maps as many facilities may see this as contraband as it could possibly be viewed as escape material!

Sorry should have made myself clearer, if it is street/ country maps this can be seen as contraband not pictures of places of interest.

Yeah, I had this same idea with Google Earth. Have my pp give a list of places he'd like to see and stuff. To actually have a satelite picture to look at! Instead of something from a book or whatever. But I never went through with it cuase I seriously doubt that it would be allowed. And how would you go about finding out if it would anyway? "Yo prison people can I send satelite pictures?" The question alone sounds like contraband. Lol.
