I noticed a common cuase of stress is mail . OSo I checked out the USPS Site

I leartneda few thing one is if you senda letter on a friday it will take longer fo it otget to wer it is gong .Most mail is picked up from a post office and delivved to a large mail center . now . if you drop of a letter on Friday it will sit until Monday in the mailing center ah your 42 cents at work .

you get caught in cycle too. that mail will not get to the destnation for another few days then it probably take the institution a day or two if not more they are not in any hurry . to get to your PP
so that is at least a week
So I think I might Send MY PP a letter tomorrow if only to say hi and that an going to try to get letters to her faster,Ill try the 2 day deal she should get it Monday or Tuesday . ypu could use this every so often as a way to let them know you are thinking of them and you are getting mail or have not alsod ate it . and ask them to do the same . It it is a lot of frustration for them and if they are in a situation like MY PP then it with little on the outside it will be welcome and if you want tell them tey do not have to respnd to every letter nut a few . instead . that you are sending it as away of saying hello and yes i have your mail if you do not like the' ping pong idea. i had no idea mail was so damn slow .


it takes me a while to write them.

and if you have a but 5 dollars you have it delivered in two days . probably worth it in some cases . a long distance
at least they will get it sooner .
I takes me at times 15 days ! that is ridiculous .

I know what you mean about it being so SLOW!! I was figuring it out and with the pace of the USPS and the delays, the most one of my PPs and I could write is twice per month. That's only 24 times a year because the mail is so slow and because of the delays at the facility. The good thing is that the mail for my in-state pen pal is much faster... when he actually writes back quickly and doesn't re-read the letter for a week before responding. Doesn't he know I'm waiting???

Good ideas ASE, I’m sort of in a rhythm now with my pal, we know it takes a week back and forth and no use fretting about it or spending extra dough. But he’s been around for a while and actually followed me through moves but that sort of makes him tense when I move for some reason. I guess because there is all that waiting in between and a new distance to figure out.

LOL we kicked off a letter every other day ,,, that way it was nice and steady,,,,, we found too,, we could drop two letters off at same time eactly,,, and one would run a day behind...

Yes they know you are waiting . often some places only send out mail on certain days . keep that in mind and keep in mind that COS are in no hurry I to get mail out until things get tense .IN TX they just go on Lock down and make every one even more miserable
yes the USPS is slow they are not entirely to blame though they are understaffed and handles a huge volume of,mail everyday .
most of your troubles come from the prison .

that is kind of pathetic 24 letters a year is not good .
i would try at least one express over night mail a month .of you really want to talk , and tell them that is the most important . one . make it so it is .
sending other letters is nice too and remember in TX they depend on out side sources for money .

Well No mail from my friend it has been a while this time I hope it is not because I sent photos i printed of landscapes and one of me hiking The envelope it was a thicker than usual envelope I am sure it caught TDJCs attention
any excuse !

I sent her a letter anyways but I did two things one sent it priority mail and sent have a tacking # from that will go into my PO BOX when it gets to Gatesville probably not her though
I'll know about how long a priority letter takes . and I will know the prison got it . I am going to make copies of the tacking Number so if anything happened I can mail her one I now date the letter and also asked her to do the same
it is a way of know if they are playing games
well i called in a favor owed me about a few things people have asked about a little overseas help from family .

OH if they only knew just who my relatives worked for at onetime heh heh
I am asking for their advice and help in dealing with all this BS as well as a few other things . I am becoming bothered by things I read about .I might disagree with some one but as I read and done research about in my grad classes along with reading another site something is really bothering me . we had our share of BS but I think some lines are being crossed it stared with mail for me and how TDJC and other DOCs deliberately hold mail .
That i sjust being cruel to be cruel Yes a good number of the inmates are not nice guys and deserve to be locked up but to with hold mail just to escalate inmates in hopes of a excuse fro using force .
or what ever it is that goes on in the Cos minds .The multiple strip searches everyday that goes beyond humiliating and dehumanizing . it is just sick and often done in front of opposite sex COs ! denial of pain medication being placed in solitary confinement with out any human contact except a attorney . no reading not even a light in someplace's ! beatings fro any excuse . rape by maleguards . none of thmedo timethe laighas they knowtheycan gwetaway weith it .

Ithink TX and other state s FLA comes to mind any one see a a pattern . TX FLA federal prisons Gitmo um BUSH family ??? makes me wonder . . Yet not a person cares . That is to much no one not even the worse deserves hat when society begins to treat "the undesirables " in that manner what happened in Nazi Germany is not rely that far behind .
I think our only hope comes from overseas not hear .I would love have a UN investigation into how we treat inmantes and what the war on drugs has done to US .



They COs know full well what letters mean and they know that holding them back only makes life more miserable cause heartache and deeply hurt feelings often mail is the only means of real communication the inmate has and a family will wait fo ra litter that never comes or takes over a month to travel a few hundred miles . Even if they can pay for a weekly call .the Cos must have some deep problems to do that .I am sick of if you do not want it f do not get arrested Note i said arrested .
this coming from a TDJC CO so a glimpse into the mentality of Cos maybe on but read what they say and it is nauseating they really do view any one held by the state as deserving of what ever they get this means any one who cannot make bail and that number is growing .Prosecutors are asking ever higher bail and judges fearing political backlash go along as some right wing blow hard will say oh look at that DA or judge blah blah spout some pompous gibberish they Broke the LAW !!! snort line pop oxycontin or better yet crush it and snort it too chase it with booze . Ahhh now he is realy fired up on a roll . look at that out of touch judge he is terrorizing us letting the low life felon !!! lose on us ! that is what most Americans hear. not bail is only to ensure the person will attend his or her trial . yeah nice guy that CO all he cares about is himself .
It goes back to the post I made about how people slip into evil . and will d commit atrocities and treat inmates as if they truly ar some sub human monster , once we start f down that path it is not a short leap to worse things

I hope my friend is not abandoning me if so she can say she no longer wants to correspond on a cheap postcard .

But I do to know what to think. I can only imagine familes who lost a love one they must go crazy when a letter is late . Why should they be punished they did nothing I ma not buying the victimsrights line of reasoning that the offenders should have thought of that .
it makes zero sense i doubt they are thinking very far ahead at the time of tier crime with few exceptions . .
it show their true nature not of compassion for a victim but are out for revenge and making life as miserable as possible consequences be danmed .
I wonder what happens if it ist hem who is locked up i bet they demand PC then whee they find out it is 23 0r 22 hr lock down they get even more upset no thinking at all it was them and their inane ranting that caused this . Than we have to think what about when inmates get out ., over crowding . if any one thinks that inmates will just take it . they are forgetting history all these abuses add up and eventually inmates can no longer take it .
