Post ID Theft

Just wondering, how pervasive is ID theft by an inmate?

Any ideas or opinions on the topic?

Seeing as it is virtually impossible for an inmate to set up a genuine bank account in their own name in the US right now, I would think it highly unlikely that any inmate would be able to commit ID fraud. However, inmates can pass on details to those on the outside, particularly in states where outgoing mail is not scrutinised (such as Nevada).
