I have been writing some one for almost four months, out of the blue he got transferred to New York Overnight,, for court proceedings..on his case to get less time hopefully, he was suppose to be back where he was at three weeks ago..I am going crazy I have not heard from him at all since february..I dont know why he hasnt even written me. Unless where he is at he has no money..or doesnt his funds get transferred to where he is at, because I had sent him some money before he left,for new york.
And he hasnt even tried to call me..collect even but he has called his sister. I am so bummed because I do miss him, he was a special guy to me.
Did anyone have similar experiences as their pal being transferred???

Hey Dan...sorry to hear your having some problems. Usually mail will follow an inmate where they are temporarily transferred. Money, however does not. It stays in the Inmate Trust Account drawing interest for the state (grrrrr). Send you pp a letter. In most cases, jails will accept money orders made out to the inmate for supplies. The jails that I have sent stamps and writing supplies to sent them back. Most "jail" inmates are required to buy all materials and stamps from the canteen at the jail. (another way they make money grrrrr) I have never had any experience with NY but I write to several inmates that have been transferred to county jails for court proceedings and they all seem to operate under the same rules. oh dana..i'm sorry to hear this You talked w/his sister, is that how you know he called her? Did you mention you haven't heard from him, she able to give you any insight?? That would be hard, especially when you had a nice thing going...sure hope you hear something, anything soon! hang in there!

Yes his sister calls me and lets me know whats going on, she sent him something to where he was at, i asked her for the address and she said she doesnt want to give it to me on account he might leave there any day from now.
But he has been there over a month now and Im homesick for his letters.

Yeah, I can imagine you are stressing over this. Its so easy to stress and think the worst when they are in prison.
I think there will be legitimate reasons for the "no-hear" tho.
I know when my pal got transferred to another prison, for some reason my phone # was blocked, and he couldn`t call.

ohhh, that is a great point feline..i have heard this happening. Even with writing, it's next to impossible until they are 'settled in'. Again, just hang in there!

My friend must have had ESP-he called me tonite..it was great!!!! he called me twice..he said he tried calling me from New York, but my number was blocked. It was just good talking to him!!!! I can sleep good tonight
