I am really excited, I applied for a CO position and assumed with my connection to someone incarcerated I would probably not get it but I got an initial interview and they called back for a follow up interview today!!!

Although - I'm wondering if getting the CO job will have any consequences when it comes to visiting your pp? Have you thought about what you will do when you have to choose?

I checked into possible problems this could cause with my pp cause if I could not visit because of this, I would not have even applied. They said as long as he was never in the county I am applying for and he can not come to the county for parole or probation which he has never been in trouble in that county and I dont live in that county so its not a problem the sheriff said it would not affect my job and the prison cant hold it against me, so I am good.

The interview went pretty good and i saw two of the other applicants, both are real petite, highlighted hair, make up, high heels on, I dont know, maybe they will get it over me, I just know from my personal perspective looking all cutsey when applying for a jail job isnt what I was going for. I wanted to appear as suiting to the job as I could, so minimal make up, comfortable but nice looking clothes and hair back. The sheriff said he would really like to get all the paperwork done before I go on vacation this weekend and then said well, we will call you and let you know either way, I am hoping that he is telling me he wants to get paperwork done before vacation means he wants to hire me,,,, i can only hope!

HUmmmm I'm petite wear some make-up and had to wear heels some of the time,,, but,,, if I was going in to apply for a postion as a CO in a prison,,, I sure would not go in dressed like that,,,, yet,,, come to think of it being maybe they were applying for an office job,,, that does not involve being around inmates esp as a CO,,,

Shoot being 5'4 and 145 lbs dont think any one would hire me even if dressed correct as you did,,,, would they even consider me,,,LOL ye,,,I am a good though,,,,,go to the outdoor fire range alot,,,, LOL Most inmates "most" are pretty big dudes,,,,,


P.S Hoping you get the job,,,sounds like you may have it,,,,,,

Im not knocking them, but they were applying for a direct contact job just like me, we were there for the same job. I like to dress cute too but there is a time and place in my opinion, I just hope i got it, so i guess I am picking the other candidates apart in hopes that I made a better impression that is all lol

LOL there is a time and a place ,,, agreeing with you,,,sorry but,, if for the same job,,, they are to me a bit of an air head ,,, I would not hire them,,,, myself,,, and even find it rather amusing,,,

I hope you get the CO job you deserve some good karma
in your life. My father was a CO years ago when they were
still called Prison Guards.

congradulations well i know ive dressed up for interviews even when its a factory positon ,i think it leaves an impression on the interviewer .making small talk with the secetarys also a good way to get a foot in the door .my daughter had a friend that was a female CO but this was in a jail military experiance the whole 9 any way do you know she got fired for bringing in a note and giving it to a male inmate from his girlfriend and it was just i love you's etc......! just remember you cant be to nice.good luck,i hope you get it,keep us posted
