so I write this guy an introduction letter. now I am getting 3 letters from him asking me for money. he has the NERVE to send me the commissary listing underlined with all the things he wants! HE says he is only allowed a 50 dollar money order but that I can send as many as I want. UMM ARE YOU SERIOUS?! I am really tempted to write back and give him a piece of my mind and tell him to never contact me again but what can I say in a nice way for him to get the message? how rude! even though I am sure this happens all the time to you guys on here I am tempted to be rude to make sure he gets the message and that its not okay to take advantage of us trying to do something nice! And here I was telling my friend the other day how I consider this guys my friends and that not one has ask me for $$ I guess I spoke to soon.

It has never happened to me, but I assume I would probably be very pissed off and I would write him something very rude and impolite, but again that would only put me down on the same level where he is. Don't write anything back. If he writes again, then just tell him that you were quite shocked with his attitude, you wanted to give him a piece of your precious free time and he used it without even trying to get to know you, to try and get some money. Tell him, work is a nice option. People do work in prisons, they don't earn much, but enough.

I think you have an open invitation to tell this idiot how you feel. It sounds like this guy has some kind of impression that this is your duty to take care of his needs. Who knows, this tactic might just work on some. On the other hand, it might be better to just have no more contact with this one.

That is insulting to say the least . though Aat the same time I have to think that it must have worked for him or others before . Some do have the idea that any one who corresponds with them is a easy mark . Then some have been . That is part of why this goes on . I know that people elsewhere will send him what ever he asks for espcially if he is on Death Row .

I think ASE has a good point. It is very possible that there are people out there just waiting for someone to tell them what to do and they will do it. Personally, if I got a letter like that, I would probably send a rather graphic resopnse, and that would be that.

Oh I agree with the rest of them. You are NOT an ATM machine nor are you the Bank of America. You should give him the same type of list he sent you and tell him you need over $500.00 per letter from him. With what gpl said, this does give you an open invitation to tell this person how you feel and to give a piece of your mind. I also believe he owes you an apology for this, but am not sure if'll ever happen...In the meantime, please don't let this CLOWN stop you from finding somebody else to write to and becoming friends with them. There are alot of good people out there in our prisons looking for pps to write to
