Sadly the U.K " justice" system is more biased towards criminals "rights" than victims suffering

We also have open prisons. Closed prisons should be the exception here, this is what the lawmakers want. The reality is vice versa.
I´m not sure under what premises a murderer could become moved into an open prison here. I hope it happens only when he is short time before his release. Normally would i presuppose that open prisons here are allowed for other offenders.

On the official U.K prison service approx 11 organisations listed offering help and support to offenders and those soon to be released,,,

only 2 organisations listed to help Victims....

how is that right?

What amazes me is the accusations of innocents being executed, a court with jury, three appeals, now we have DNA. Yet those same ones have nothing to say when one released or fleed has commited another horrific act to an innocent in society???? Or another while inside how odd that is to me personally.

I´m not sure what the links tell about the statistic rates how often such incidents happen. To be honest, this was a serious problem here, not related to murderers but to sex offenders which were in open prisons. Some of them did new attacks against defenseless women and kids. The public became very angry about such incidents. The government has reacted, some laws became changed to be used more flexible. An important tool is the so called "security custodianship".

All we hear from those responsible for maintaining "justice", and supposedly keeping the public safe, is the same old tired " this must never be allowed to happen again, and changes will be made" speech.

If we are lucky someone in the Goverment will resign, if enough fuss is made ( though that's rare)

then guess what happens a few months later.......

I am all for prison reform and some laws need changing but, in situations as above the public should cry out !

This is a serious problem and it should be changed because victims could suffer for a long time period (for instance raped women). The society should grant all the psychologic assistance they would need. I guess one of the reasons is the filthy lucre.
