I do not mind helping people out for postage and writing supplies, I do dislike the newer trend for a pp to ask for a minimum amount per month (20-50$)for them to write me. There really are peple that enjoy getting just letters and photos, they are sometimes difficult to locate!

After i saw the crime series "Medical Detectives" i was on a death penalty website and found there a hint, that such penpal websites exist. Didn´t knew it before. After using Google i found WAP and his ads lists and i was curious enough to try it. Today i don´t regret it because my pp and me are on a good way to become close friends.

I read an article in a Dutch magazine about a woman who was writing someone in a US prison. I guess I've always been interested in these kind of things, so I decided to check out this website that was mentioned in the article. I responded to an ad, but never got anything back. So a couple of months later I decided to try again. Well, that was a great decision, because I found a great man!

I came to WAP in a round about way. I am a published author and a columnist-so I spend alot of time on myspace. I met a guy on there who is currently inside--his myspace is run by a friend. We got to be friends--his blogs are incredible. I found out he gets quite a bit of mail so I decided to find a guy who didn't and maybe needed me more than my myspace friend did. I found WAP on a search and thought it was the best and most reputable site for such a thing. I found my pp on the site and I hope to get my first letter from him soon.

I was looking up information for a friend who might have to go through some prison sentencing. So while I was on google, I came across the site. i clicked on it and I remember thinking, holy crap they really allow you to write prisoners lol. I had never even heard of that lol.

So I started off just looking through the website, mainly looking at people and their crimes. It was kind of interesting to see some of the people who had committed serious crimes. I had no intenions of writing ANYONE on there. The thought of it just scared me lol.

So then I came across the name Joshua ******* lol. There was something about the name that made me want to click on it. So I see his ad and omg Idont know what it was, but there was just SOMETHING THERE! It was like something was telling me, you need to write this guy! He was adorable too, the picture def worked magic for him lol. Then I read his little opening paragraph and I was surprised to see that he was JUST like me! His personality, the things he liked, even the way he talked. It was like we were identical.

I had his ad printed out and hidden in my room for almost 2 weeks before I decided to write him lol. I was soooo afraid he'd be crazy or something lol. Or that he'd come out and kill me lol. So I called his prison, found out all the information on him, I even googled him. There was nothing serious on him. He was a first time offender. He was decent.

So I wrote him, and here we are today. We're going on 10 months together, and we're more in love than anything!
