I'm still waiting for a reply from the 3 inmates i wrote i wrote them all on the same day sept 28th and i used the e-mail choice on the website. i gave my real address because i do not have a p.o. box I'm wondering will this stop them from receiving my letter? I'm just getting kinda nervous that none of them will respond. Any Advice ? should i write another letter, but this time by hand? Please Help

my inmates are all from different places; one in Susanville Ca... one in Illinois (Menard correctional center) and the other in Lawrenceville Virginia

I've read somewhere on here wap is sending these mails just twice a month 4th and 20th,so they just got your letters.

You dont need a PO Box, I think its just recommended. I use my home address but Im in the UK.

They get the e-mails on the 4th and 20th of each month, so they just got yours - now they also get your address and have to write back, buy stamps if they don't have any, and paper, etc. Then their letter is read by the mail staff and sent - since it's Columbus day on Monday, it may take time.

If you live in the US, you should get their letters next week but if you're in Europe - you may have to wait another week

I'm also in the same situation, and I'm in France - so I don't expect a response until the 20th - and I keep my mind busy because I'm naturally very impatient

Also, I gave my real address since in France only entrepreneurs can have a PO box - but I was a pp years ago to prisoners and I never had any trouble with that.

Plenty of things can cause a delay in getting a response. They maybe locked down, in the hospital, generally not feeling well, low on funds ect... I wrote three guys back in late august. It took me three weeks to get a response. The one who did respond told me he was in the hospital for surgery when I wrote him. Another guy either sold or someone stole my address from him and a random inmate just wrote me. Life is full of little, quirky, and sometimes alarming surprises.

should not be a problem i used my home address the thing is it takes awhile and the inmate may not have paper or stamps they dont call it snail mail for nothing

Yeah, it takes a bit getting used to, sometimes the waiting and anticipation of a new letter can be so unbearable. I live in Singapore, so mails take extra long to get to me, and for my letters to reach my pp. Fortunately now there is the JPay messaging system that can help to cut down a bit on the lag.

I just found out that my new pp's Mom had told him that my letter was on its way and she e-mailed me to thank me for "putting a big smile on his face" !

I hope he will get it next Monday ;-)
