Hi frazer85,
Have you tried calling the prison, yet? Perhaps she is ill or injured or in the hole. Other than that, the mail is still working in Texas. My PP is just down the road, and I am still getting regular mailings from her.

Fraser, i would agree with Xray and try calling the prison first to check up on it. That is no guarantee of anything as they may be reluctant to speak with someone who is not family, but its a start. I had to say it but she may have had her letter writing privelages temporaily suspended if there were problems/issues in there. It happens but the good news is they will eventually get them back once they get out of lock down or whatver the situation is.

Yes, I'd check with the prison first. I hadn't heard from one pp in over a month, and just got a letter from him today-he simply didn't have money for stamps. So since I'm comfortable with him I'm gonna send money for stamps and paper-I hade a 5 page letter on 5 different pieces of paper. It's also possible she was transferred and you letter wasn't forwarded? Have faith, stay strong, and let us know what happens.

All told, it's probably a bit disheartening to lose contact with a penpal, especially if you've put a lot of effort into it. There could be a number of reasons why you haven't heard from Yuvonne for over 5 months.

When you ask yourself "why" in such situations, it's a good idea to back up and take a look at how the "relationship" started, and where it went before it was terminated.

Forgive the "tough love" stance here, but let's consider the content of her ad on WAP. It is clearly focused on two main issues: sex and money. Consider also that she did not post a photo of herself. This alone lends itself to a potential for deception.

Her approach, considering the wording in her ad, was obviously to arouse the prurient interests of her potential suitors. She also left no question that she wanted somebody financially stable to take care of her both inside prison and out.

In the old days, we would call that kind of person a "gold-digger". Not to seem condescending, as I don't know you personally, but if one is willing to accept a dose of reality, it's highly possible that you may be just one of many.

Calling the prison probably would not accomplish much more than finding out that mail is moving as usual. It won't answer the question as to why she isn't writing you anymore. Only she can answer that question, and my guess is that she probably won't.

Good luck.

Advice worth considering. When I check out penpal ads and see the ones that ask for financial help I look no further. Now we know what her ad said we may rethink our replies here.
