Yes, I've written a few women who just never wrote back. Maybe they had enough pen pals already, or maybe something I said scared them off, lol.

Hello,

I've had a few non-replies, but I also got lots of replies, so it all works out well and I didn't really notice, but I was worried at first that no one would reply when I sent a whole heap of letters out at first, I worked out how long it would take to get the mail there, a day for them to write back, and then the mail back, and I checked my letters box EVERY day until I finally got some replies, and I was upset when I thought no one was answering!! It's hard I think when you really put alot of effort into the letter and you think about it alot, you really want a reply, but I've realised there no point in 'guessing' why, youll never get a real answer that way - it's best to move on, and write to someone else to distract you!! lol

Regarding the 'High profile" inmates, I've been really curious on this issue myself and wondered how it all worked. I've heard a few stories that alot of really high profile guys get alot of hate mail, and they often don't even open envelopes that are from people they don't know, they just throw it away, which I guess is fair enough, no matter what you've done, it wouldn't be nice to read hate mail directed at you.

I'd love to hear how it goes with this letter you've written, and good luck!!

The problem when you write some letters you are proud of you expect to get a reply. It almost feels like a rejection. In my case anyhow! What tended to happen to me at the beginning was that when I did not hear back I wrote more people without considering the time delay. It was like from no one to about 15 people! I feel really happy with the about 8 I now write to regularly in the States as well the lady in Turkey and the Nigerian guy in Bangkok!

My ! My !!! I thought about hate mail being a problem, but I never thought of it that way...... !!!!! Ugh ! That's one more aspect I have to worry about now, thanks Chicksta, LOL But a letter from France, he shouldn't think it's hate mail...Plus, as I said, not that "high profile"...

I am now back from my vacation but my mail box is empty for the moment, sadly. Well, I have to admit that if my calculations are right, I could be getting something on Monday at the earliest.

Back in the day, I did get the "send me some money please" from a very new pp. Needless to say, I didn't send any and he never wrote back. It seems to be a old trick in the book, even though there is no doubt in my mind that some of the inmates are totally broke and it's nicer to have a buck or two to buy BlueBell Icecream... Poor souls...

I did send money to my other long term pp because we had been writing a while and I knew from various elements in his letters that he was very broke.

Dilster By odd chance I am aware of the person you are talking about .She is well know as a "lonely hearts " scam artist .She use the "soft approach . usually just being nice then hint at a romance and asking for money . From my knowledge she has a lot on her books it is well known by " offenders " in her prison system . You might want ot use the report a problem thingy on her profile or contact that DOC directly they deal very harshly with those who scam and extort . She is definantly not going to be paroled any time soon either not in her state with her particular case . I would not bother wring her at all . and I think it is a reasonable thing to at least use the report a problem thingy .

Remember She is in prison and really did something very serious to get herself their you are free and have shown some one some kindness just by writing them if they choose to use you a sa ATM and Scam or not write it is their problem and their loss not yours . too bad some do this and make every one distrustful

Hello

My name is Elly and I'm new here on this forum. Since a few years I write with a pp in the USA. We had a very good contact but I didn't receive letters from him for almost 2 months now. I wrote him every week, even last week I sent him a card. I also have contact with his mother who also didn't hear from him for the same time. I don't know why he doesn't write me anymore, but the same happend at the beginning of our corresponding. After a year I the corresponding stopped and after a long time I found out that he was replaced and lost my address as he said. I'm dissapointed because over the years we became very good friends and I miss him. Maybe I have to look for another pp, because you receive so much thankfulness and I really enjoy it.
