Default Hand written or Printed

Sorry if this has been a thread in the past but I will take a chance.

I am interested to know what you people think about sending your pp's printed letters as opposed to a hand written letters, have you had any feedback from your pp's on this subject?

I know a hand wriiten letter is more personal but my hand writing can be a bit messy at times, even I have trouble reading it :-)

Also as many of you will know doing a letter on a computer makes life easy as text can be moved around things added in and any mistakes can be easy put right. In your experiance does putting the final part of the letter in hand writing make it personal enough for our pp's to make them feel it is itended just for them?

I don't do it. But maybe it's just me. One of my pp's did say I could when I apologized for my horrendous penmanship. But I wouldn't feel right about it. And she said she could read my scratch anyway... The other pp's haven't mentioned it at all.

i hear ya ...i think if u have a lit of trouble being understood i would do a bit of both ...so at least it does have a personal touch to it...u could add little notes in the printed areas and do some real writings inbetween......just a thought...pia

I always type my letters on my computer. I think handwritten letters are SO MUCH MORE personal but for me it's just easier typing it. Gotta love that spell check also =) I usually add a little handwritten note inside the envelope for a little personal touch!

Hi
I type most of mine, but ocassionally I hand write one just to let them know that I do write them myself! I tried handwriting all of them to start with, and then I realised that I could write a lot more if my letters were typed, and they were getting more reading. I always hand sign it and sometimes add hand writen notes or doodles at the end to personalise it a bit.

Hi Goldblend,

I always write by hand it seems to suit me and my pal. Neither of us have fantastic handwriting but we manage 16 to 20 pages a week.

Sure it's a lot of work but to me it's a pleasure.

does it really matter, no of course not what is important is that you write be it by hand or typeface. Thats all that this boils down too.

Good luck and if you are undecided do some and some. Long letters by computer short ones by hand.

kindest regards,

Andrew

I usually hand-write my letters, but I do like to type from time to time, my thoughts flow more freely, and I had asked several of my pals what do they prefer and they told me it does not matter as long as they get a letter

i type the majority of my letters they are filled with pics taken with the digital camera, pics i have scanned, and clip art all usually aligned in context to what i have been babbling about, i scan other things like report cards and include copies of emails i take screen dumps to demonstrate what a yahoo chat box looks like, the list goes on and on by typing i can include so much more, not to mention they are colorful and easily read and replacable! i write to a number of people and i spend a minimum of 4 hours per letter and they are rarely under 6 pages long, if i didnt have my saved copies to refer back to i would be in a awful mess sometimes, i remember them easily enough but i dont remember what i say in reply sometimes.

not one has ever made comment about it not being personal, its the content that makes it personal i believe, and the end product is almost a work of art, its much more than a letter when it leaves here, the longest was 14 pages and took 40 hours (due to pc continually crashing) i dont think theres anything at all impresonal about that!

Hi all...I don't believe it makes a difference one way or the other, all that really matters is the words on the paper, and not the means in which they are applied. I think if you're comfortable hand writing, that's fine, typing, same difference...after all, who cares...just write and rejoice in the fact that you and your PP are happy exchanging thoughts, emotions and feeling on paper. That to me means the most.
