Default Florida Inmates

I read something on another site that said FL Dept of Corr does not allow for its inmates to have PP

Anyone shed some light on this?

I thought Florida was allowing it now. I know now that Alabama (my state)is not. If you find someone in an AL prison who has an add, just don't mention the word penpal in the letter. If they see the word penpal, they will return the letter.

My PP is in Florida , and yes the ACLU , took them to court and for sometime now Florida inmate can post add. Florida DOC is a mess to say least, it is very slow but it is moving. Again slow but moving.

All inmates in all states are permitted to recieve mail and have pen pals, in Florida they have a Doc rule stating they are not permitted to solicit for pen pals in other words they are not allowed to have an ad up.

Does anyone know the "so called logic" behind, not allowing to run an ad for a pp if incarcerated????

Not sure if the law changed or not but, Florida "did not" allow an inmate to run an ad,,,guess could check WAP itself to see if they can now... Dah to me ... just answered that ?? myself,,, but, still do not know the reason why it was so ,, No ad's for pp's???

AWW talking to myself and answering my own ???,,, I see in WAP ad's,, there are plenty of inmates ad's now,,, I remember when there were none,,, against Florida's dumb rules ... just one of many ...

My Mother always told me OK to talk to yourself ,, just worry when you start getting answers >>>

Theres a few reasons why peanut that i have come across, the main and initial one was outrage from victims groups, one woman in particular lobbied and made a lot of noise about how her murdered loved ones life was cut short and she felt it was wrong that offender is online seeking love saying how he likes cats that he should be exluded from that as part of his incarceration, i believe thats where it all started, it wasnt in florida though they just jumped on the band wagon.

Secondly i do believe that us pen pals generate a substantial work load for any doc, the cost cutting aspect would be attractive.

The DOC can pass a rule that apparently affects the inmate but its not actually a law, therefor anyone can post an add on their behalf, from my understanding this DOC rule has been thrown out of other states because it voilates rights

Rule 33-210.101 Florida Administrative Code

yes all inmates can have mail it is a right for all......

the reason why some web sites dont post ads and others do must just come down to personal choice, an ad does have potential consequences for he inmate, i suppose some sites dont want to be a part of the potential consequences

FLORIDA INMATES CAN RECIEVE MAIL

for some reason i get really upset by the miss-information around florida inmates
