Default "Euros" getting approved for a visit...

Hey y'all,

I was just wondering if any "Euro" boys and girls had ever been approved for visitations in the US ?

How do we go about this ?

How long in advance should we ask for the approval process to start ?

On what grounds can we get denied visitation rights ?

Do the process and the approval depend on the state / prison / custody level of the inmate ?

Thanks in advance for your input,

D.

Hello, you have to get your penpal to send you a visiting form to start with,
id give it a couple of months from what ive read on the forums,
fill out the form also you will need an upto date pic, some have said they needed a police back ground check but i never did, it only took me 2 weeks to send the form in and get approved,
im guessing if you did have to do a police background check and your a naughty person, you might be denied?? but apart from that i cant think of any other reason you would be denied,

i am.
just like ukgal told already your ppl has to send you a vissiting form and than the prison will aprove it or not.

Visiting List

Most prisoners develop their visiting list while still in the reception process. Lists generally include family, friends, attorneys, and clergy. The list names the visitors, their address, their phone number, and their relationship to the inmate. After the individuals listed are screened and a background check is completed, some correctional systems actually interview visitors to determine their suitability for the prison setting. To avoid problems and conflict, prohibitions to visiting lists usually include known felons, former inmates, parolees, and probationers, vendors, and prison volunteers.

Well, yeah, I am naughty... But not in that way ! LOL

Thanx guys, I'm still a long way from visiting (both literally and not so literally) but if we have to work on this in advance, it's good to have an idea.

I'd be so cool to meet my pp though....

I used to visit a guy on death row in missouri, He sent me a visitation form and I sent it back but also spoke to his caseworker as overseas and had no social security number or basically no proof of id, so I had to send in a photocopy of my passport. No background or police check was required.

I have here now a visitation form from my pal who is in a federal prison and there is actually a part to fill in where it says passport number if non usa citizen so it seems rather easy to do.

I wouldnt worry if I was applying to visit but ensure paperwork is done before any flight is booked and if possible fine the phone number of your friends case worker to ensure it is done correctly

Thanx Waldron for this very good piece of advice.

How long in advance would you say I'd need to "get on this" ?

6 months ?
