Just to chuck in a topic starter here...Just to let you all know how I stand and this is only MY BELIEF.... I am currently writing someone on DR.and I feel stronly about CP and think that its all wrong, to put it polietly.. It's irrelevant to me wether or not the crime was commited by my PP, I just wanna extend some of my friendship toward him and hope it helps him through..does this ring any bells with anyone else?? Or maybe it annoys you the way I feel...Say ANYTHING back, like I say, THESE ARE MY FEELINGS an we're all entitled to them so if you wanna share yours...FIRE AWAY!!

I understand...judgement has already been passed, so i'm not about to do the same again. My pp's crime doesnt bother me, i didnt know him then & to be honest i'm only interested in present and future. *smile* C xx

I agree with English Heart. We have all been through a Dark Peroid and my atitude is There but for the Grace of God go I. I could easily be in their shoes but I made different choices. Everyone has different story, you fell in the wrong people, you have to fall or stare into the abyss before make the right choices, etc, etc. Some of these inmates just need to see someone shows faith in them.

As odd as this will sound I think it would bother me more if the person insisted that they were innocent. Sometimes my PP likes to believe she's the victim which bothers me enough when I know there is somebody who's life is over while she is alive so there's no rhyme or reason to that. Her being guilty doesn't bother me at all, it's just like English Heart said so well, I didn't know then then and I'm only interested in the present.

I agree! U hear the saying that 99.9% of people (on DR) are innocent... My PP says he is innocent and i believe him where as others that i wont mention say the same and i tend not too! Ok i have went off on one here lol ok i think personally that it depends on the crime.. i know that sounds some what mean but some things i can forgive not others!!

The guys I write to each told me they were guilty in their first letters to me. It wasn't my place to judge but as others have said - I am friends with them now and am interested in the present and future. Also - my pals are in for the 3 strike law for drug crimes. As they no longer use and have changed since those days - they are in essence changed from what got them into prison in the first place. Both have grown up and paid a hefty price for their past.
