Default Do you think they deserve a chance...

I have a question and forgive me if I am in the wrong of doing this... But 10 ppl standed in front of a trailer and shot over 20 times, with family in there, shot and killed a lil boy, deserves to have ppl like us wanting to take the time to write, when they didnt even bother to think about what the hell they were doing. Many of the inmates in there probally did things when they were young and they didnt know what they were doing later to realize, but do you think ppl that did this deserve a second chance.......?????????? Everyone is responsible for what we do in this life, we are no one to judge, but do you think they thought about that "lil 6 yr old boy"...?????????? Just wondering....

Something that happened in my hometown about a yr and a half ago, and well now they barely got caught, saying they are sorry !!! Grown men ! Can you believe this? When they found the lil boy, the bullet had gone through his throat and out of his head... He had his finger in his mouth, saying "it was not my fault !" ((( He would put his finger in his mouth everytime he did something wrong)))

Before I leave here for a bit, would like to comment to this,,,
Should he be given another chance to kill NO"
Some do change and some never do, no matter how much time,I think those are the ones we write and find in letters they are not at the point may never be.
Some had mental problems never treated and now treated can see and feel and think clearer, maybe not all deserve a second chance but, some do,,, if not, at least human compassion of writing may make this a safer place in some small way.

There are many sides to every human being. Given the right conditions some people feel justified in carrying out a vendeta ...real or imagined. What seems right in one moment is pure insanity in another. The hatred displaces all caution and consideration of others. Which part of these people are we speaking to when we write? I certainly don't write to the insane person who comitted the act, but to the human that is left after regaining some semblance of a civilized individual. Anger is a form of insanity even though it doesn't qualify in a court of law. Anger management is not consistant with every man or woman. Some have great difficulty in manageing anger. That is why so many end up in prison. If they don't learn how to deal with strong emotions, they will continue to abuse and kill others. This should be a wake-up call for those who befriend and fall in love with inmates in general. They make great lovers IF they have done their homework on themselves. Part of writing to inmates should include support for helping them deal with emotional problems. If the person writing has more problems than those they write to, then it is the blind leading the blind. Our awareness and understanding should go beyond that of the inmate. After all, we are suppose to be functioning individuals who can add something to their lives.

These were men that had already served time, many of them for years, instead of them learning from their mistakes, they get out to do even more... These men were given many chances, and they didnt take advantage of what they once had, so why should we care for these individuals that never bothered to change, and who knows how many lives, they have taken !!! As oppose to any other inmates, yeah I do feel for like I said the ones that maybe are in there for **** they did when they were young, or for drugs, but not for the ones second or third time around, and still taking innocent victims lives... !!!! What do u think P?

Wicked no one is perfect in this world we all have done something wrong some just happen to be more major then others...

do they deserve a second chance?? no one knows what these men have lived with inside their minds and no one knows what drugs these people were on to make them do something as uncalled for as this... but we are all human rather inside are outside the walls all we can do is offer a shoulder, compassion, and understanding..
let these guys and gals know that there is always another set of people that looks pass the past and try and help them in the future..
my heart always goes out to the family of a lost one during a crime but my heart also goes out to the inmate that committed the crime also because i feel if this inmate had received a smile a word of kindness from someone,, anyone at all maybe these crimes wouldnt of happen.. yea i know im tring to save the world on a breath and prayer but i know in my heart that one day i can atleast say hey i tried to help someone make a better life, place for themselves... there was a poem are a quote that someone once said "So next time you see the beggar on the street remember to greet him and be real sweet For it just might be a test from God
to see how loving you'll be to this sot."

You know wolf, these were ppl that I knew that I grew up with, its very hard for me to accept the fact that they took an inocent victims life, I know maybe later on I will forgive them, but now its hard cause they person they did it to was someone I knew as well... They werent in drugs, none of that, they just felt they needed to show who is BIGGER person, they say the "last laugh is the best" I guess they got their point to me and everyone else. Its easy for you to say that until you get in the victims shoes, can you honestly say that you will write and correspond to the person that took your son/daughters life away??? I dont think so... But I do understand where you are coming from dreamer and I respect your opinion as well ok... Thanks for sharing your opinion with me. :0) ((smile)) Heres a poem I want to share with you...

"NO REGRETS"

I have no regrets for the pain in my life,
For it has given me strength…
Nor for the sorrow,
For it has made me real and helped me understand myself…
Nor for despair,
For I have cast off illusion…

I have no regrets for the loneliness,
For I have made friends with the night…
Nor for the rage and anger,
For through it I have found inner peace…
Nor for having made enemies,
Who taught me what not to be…

I have no regrets for the death of loved ones,
For they showed me how to live…
Nor for rejected love,
For I have learned to love myself…
Nor for the passage of time,
That which has given me my memories…

I have no regrets for the shackles of deception,
For I have broken thru the walls of prisons in my mind…
Nor for the wandering,
Which has led me home…
Nor for the road taken,
I have no regrets,
For life is born of struggle…
And the will to survive.

Something I wanted to share with you all, something an inmate wrote, which now makes me understand a little more of why they do the things they do and how they feel the way they do.........

From the beginning, the pen pals I ahve chosen to write are the younger, first time offenders. My friends think I am nuts and have the attitude that criminals should be locked up and forgotten. There are some who will never change but if you read the profiles carefully and between the lines you can tell what kind of person they are. There are those that are using their time to better themselves, educate themselves, and own up to what they do. There are others who start off telling you how innocent they are or are in for the umpteenth time. No matter what everyone even the bad, the ugly and cruel deserves kindness and forgiveness even if it is difficult to give. The quickest way to create a re-offender is to shun him and treat him as less than anyone else. Society is creating its own problems and increases in prison populations. The ironic sue of the term "Correctional facility" should truthly be called punishment because in most cases that is all it is.
