Okay... So I am livid right now. And I think all of my pals prison happen to know it.

There is always a time and a place to get involved. Picking battles wisely is something I learned early on with my family who went in years ago.

Well... the small stuff I let my pals vent about and the major stuff I get involved. Right is right and wrong is wrong.

On sunday... my pal was pulled out for visit and got all the way to visit to be told "We called the wrong offender, oh well go back to your cell." (Keep in mind he is the only offender with his same first and last name in that unit, and the only offender with that last name that has a number starting with a 6).

Apart from being a cruel thing to do it is a security risk to pull the wrong offender out.

Well today he was told to pack his stuff. The Sergeant went through his belongings, commented on how this was the first search where she found NOTHING! NOTHING AT ALL! All of his stuff was legit. No contraband. She shook her head and said, I don't know what the hell this is about. You have no contraband but I have to send your property to the administration.

They took everything. Toothpaste, soap, towels, clean clothes, no blanket, not mattress. He has no cup to get water to drink, nothing.

The wardens office was not returning calls and basically said 'Wait it out'.

He was given NO information at all, not one person could tell him what the H is going on.

I called and a female officer was trying to give me the run around and I got the captain on duty.

He informed me that it is all because another inmate wanted Pedro's job, or housing , or was jealous over something he had and filled out a bogus I60.

There was no contraband, no case, nothing. SO now he is punished because of this. He can't even brush his teeth or take a shower.

Yeah, I know some inmates are in there making change, Pedro is one of them. He has done so much to stay out of trouble and to do the right things for himself.

But just as there are good ones, there are some who never change and still play games, regardless of how you see the glass half full or half empty... games like these are just wrong.

Even if the staff know what is going on, they are still supposed to follow procedure. I suspect he will get his stuff back, though probably not all of it. Then it would be his choice whether to play the same game or let it go. I agree with you, it's not right, but it is how it is in there.

Sadly this is the truth in full, and have experienced many seemingly pathetic incidents with not only officers, but inmates.

Thats sad the visit part was a very cruel thing to do. and now for him to have to go without all his stuff is wrong. Im so sorry he is having to go through all that.

My heart goes out to your pal, and to you. It's hard to not be able to protect them from the BS that administration puts our pals through when they truly don't deserve it. I hope that your friend is able to keep his chin up. My thoughts are with you and your pal.

They told him he has to send all of his property home, he is going to seg. There is no reason for this, no case, nothing. He has only the clothes on his back.

I can't even FATHOM this!!!! I'd be beside myself if this was my boyfriend.

Maybe it's because I'm still new here and all, but I think that the guys, as screwed up as all that was and is, they have come to expect it. It goes with the territory.

But out HERE? All we can feel is outrage at how unfair it is. I mean I don't know your pal, but this may not be the first time he's been through something like this, so as annoying as it is, it's not much more of a nuisance to him. BELIEVE me I'm not trying to make light of it. I'm only saying that I think the guys get used to what we cannot even fathom and that is the saddest thing of all.

It's so hard feeling so powerless. I hope you'll keep us posted after you hear back from Huntsville.

WOW! Where are you flying FROM? I've done pretty good on priceline though never on such short notice. My friend mentioned spiritair - they've got cheap flights on short notice she says. Lots of LOCAL flights - like I could go from Tampa to Ft. Lauderdale for like $9! Don't know what they could do for you or how you'd feel about flying an airline you've never heard of, but just thought I'd mention it. Good luck!
