| I wanted to put this out here instead of high jacking the other post.... I too thought at one time the Death Penalty was humane, and even thought it a good thing. it wasn't until i truly became informed that i was able to see ALL the TRUE facts........take a look........ | Call me a pessimist. Call me a nihilist. Heck, call me a misanthrope. If someone commits numerous (i.e. more than one) murders, he or she, in my opinion, deserves to be put to death. I don't care if they regret their actions down the road, that doesn't bring back their murder victims. I'm talking about the worst of the worst here, the infamous serial killers who didn't stop until they were caught. The world would be a better place if some people weren't in it. Yes, I admit the justice system is majorly flawed, but IMO, if you take a life in cold blood, you shouldn't keep yours. |

| Ok, just repasting what I said earlier since we're no longer hijacking that thread I'm 20 years old and I want the death penalty abolished. Why do I want to abolish the death penalty? I feel that for those sociopathic murder's, those that are serial killers, those are the people that deserve the death penalty. Not for people like my PP's Jazz and Story. Story is innocent of the crime he was charged for, does the state care that there is evidence to support his innocence? Absolutely not. What would it look like for them to be wrong, yet again? They are willing to put Story to death because they cannot admit their mistakes. If you knew Jazz, you'd see his golden heart, he's had a bad life since birth. Based on his race, year of birth, and location, he had everything stacked against him. He IS a statistic, he's just another person in that "group" that committed the same crime everyone else did. He's just another person that was given up on and released into the world by people who knew he would commit crimes to get by. He is a statistic, and it's not his fault, it's the state's fault. If we would pay more attention to the troubled youth's and to the education system, we would get somewhere with these kids. We could start breaking down that statistic, we could save lives. Instead, we are following that ape into battle to countries that did not want or need our help. Jazz will one day be murdered by the state he loves, and that's because he was given up on, he was a lost boy in a sea of lonely souls that the state is just waiting to incarcerate. |

| joe, i understand why you feel the way you do. All i was trying to show you is the things you remarked on in your other post was not actual fact. Meaning the cost of incarceration for life, compared to the legal costs of taking a life through the Death Penalty is far greater. MURDER by Lethal injection has come no further in being humane, etc. What i really wanted was to post more knowledge and understanding of the things you talk about. I hope you take the time to read the stats with an open mind. Maybe even take a look at some of the stories. If you believe in the "eye for an eye" mentality, then their is nothing that can be said. It is just a choice. But if you are talking reality of costs, public safety then that can be addressed. So much money and time is WASTED in Death Penalty cases, where i believe it could be better spent else where. Honestly with the Super Max Prisons they are building today, a ****roach would have a hard time getting out. |

| It is not only vain, but wicked in a legislator to frame laws in opposition to the laws of nature,& to arm them with the terrrors of death. This is truly creating crimes in order to punish them. Thomas Jefferson quote: Making criminal mentality wide spread.

| I am adamantly against the death penalty! Have been since I was mature enough to care. In my opinion all they are doing is legally commiting murder when they execute someone! It is just doing what the inmate did and getting by with it! Over and over! My PP on death row is the sweetest man in the world! His past is one of the stats, too! HE WOULD NEVER HURT ANOTHER PERSON, AGAIN were he to be freed. The death penalty is just barbaric!! |

| I'm against death penalty, and as long i can remember i always was! DP makes the state a murder too! My thoughts are always with the victims family's. But i dont see the reason why hurt another family? Kill the murder would that make feel the family of the victim better? I dont think, your loved one is never comeing back. States with DP, is there less crime? No, there isnt! The circumstances in DR prisons are not human. Every human being deserve a fair and human treadment. Every case is different, instead of DP i believe with whole my heart many of them are good people, who make bad mistakes in life and deserve a second chance. People can change! And so can the system!

| There are no doubt people who have committed sufficiently awful homicides to deserve to die themselves. But there is not enough wisdom and decency in the justice system to be executing people who too often are not guilty as charged or even guilty at all. Many death penalty proponents think tax dollars are "free" Clearly a Soviet/North Korean/Cuban type of view. We sure don't need killing factories. John |

| *The Death Penalty is the extreme and unnecessary measure of taking life to show that taking life is wrong* The justice system is a two-tiered system one for the rich and one for the poor. |
