Hello! I have written my second letter to my pp and just need to ask a few queations regarding mail: 1. I want to send 3 photos, I know Polaroids are not allowed, are normal photos on Kodak (or photo paper) ok? 2. My airmail paper is a blue colour. Will this be allowed? 3. Also with photos, would I have to write my pp's name and DOC number on the back? 4. I know that I have to put my return address on the envelope, should I put it in the letter aswell? Sorry about more questions, I have read the mail rules for Texas but I don't find them to be very clear. My pp is on DR in Texas (Polunsky). Thanks! XXX

1. you can use normal picture paper. it doesnt matter which size, kind or quality 2. i write overseas so my letters are always airmail and they dont care what color it is 3. you dont need to write anything on it. i always tell him what i did or what its showing 4. you dont have to put your return address twice. the outside of the envelope is enough

| Let me see, This is the best of my knowledge. 1. Yes, normal photo paper is allowed. 2. Colored paper is allowed as far as I know. 3. You don't have to write the name and DOC # on the back of the photos but I would as a safety measure in case anything got misplaced. 4. It never hurts to put your return address in the letters as well. Also, let the inmate know how many pages the letter was and how many photos were sent. I dont always do this but its a good idea in case things get lost. Hope this helps but also you can ask your pal some of these questions. Usually they know all the rules and will be happy to tell you.

i use a zillion different colours of papers and have never had them returned. some of them have pictures of cats, dogs, rabbits, mice, music notes, and so on on them, nothing has ever been returned, so whatever paper you use.

If you are anything like me, when I was new to the whole prison penpal writing thing, I had no idea what I could and couldn't write on, where I had to write their names and addresses and my return address and so on - as you go along, or should I say, as time goes by, you will realize that there are actually not THAT many rules really, for writing to someone in a prison - just the basics... 1. always write their # no 2. always put your return address on the envelope 3. don't write anything other than your name and address and their name and address on the envelope 4. don't put stickers on your letters unless you know it is allowed the colour paper and envelopes you use is immaterial to the prisons, as long as the names and addresses are clearly stated, they are fine with it..
