I have received two 30-minute calls from New York. I live in Cleveland. Anyone know the cost of collect calls from Beacon, NY to Cleveland, OH? Thanks much.

I tried emailing them and they said it would be no problem. You need about $100 to start with: in that is the starter fee, monthly fee (for one month) and a little credit to start a few calls. You should try emailing them and ask them to make you an offer.

Millie, I didn`t try it already, I just read your reply. Are you sure that I can order such from Germany? I mean, not everybody has got a creditcard, that`s different here :-)

Hi collect calls can be made to Europe. You need to call your telephone service provider and they will confirm the cost. The cost to England for a 15 minute call from Arizona it is about $80!

If your calls are coming from a facilty that uses MCI-call MCI and ask for inmate services. They have their own number-they can tell you exactly how much the calls are gonna cost. They are actually very helpful but you may have to wait a few minutes on hold. If it isn't an MCI call-then whatever carrier the institution uses, call the carrier and inquire. My calls I get only run 6.50 a call for 15 minutes. I hope this helps.

Only 6.50 for a 15-minute collect call?! That's not bad considering some of the horror stories people have posted on here over the past year about massive phone bills. I think though that MCI has a special arrangement in some states and charges 15.00 for a 15-minute call. At least that is what someone once posted on here. (the difference goes to the state - a hidden tax on inmate calls!)

Russ-I am basing what I quoted on the numbers the MCI person gave me. They said 1.60 for the initial connection and then 39 cents a minute. (or something like that) I have yet to receive a phone bill. Now I am kinda scared-I am in the same state as my pal. I am gonna go hide under my couch and hope that the hidden tax isn't that much. Funny, they didn't mention that-hmpf.

Anywhere from 28.00 to 75.00, depending on what carrier they link in to. I've had 3 calls for as little as 100.00 or as much as 240.00. I do a lot of praying before the bill arrives.
