I know my friend Merrill sends out a ton of Christmas cards to inmates but I was just wondering how many of us will be sending cards to inmates that are not our pen pals?

I did not think about doing this till I got a call from my bf tonight. He informed me that many men (women as well) dont get even a card for the Holiday.
Made me sad thinking that family could forget their loved ones behind bars or even those that dont have loved ones. I am going to head to Walgreens and buy a box and start addressing, etc for an early December mailing. A book or two of stamps is fairy cheap.

I do this every year. I usually get a 30% response from people who want to be a pp even though I've told them that I was just sending a card for the season. Hard to not respond but if I can't give my best then I don't want to let them down.

I just hope they understand that someone is thinking about them, and dag maybe this year I'll send postcards back.

Hard times for all but it's made me think if I send something then maybe a minimal response is okay. . .or not for me. Well still struggling with all of that, sending out best wishes for the season and the new year at the end of this month then we'll see.

I send cards to some of the guys Hubby works with and sometimes to others whose names get passed on to me.

Yes i will be sending cards as usual, the only thing for me is i wish i could write all that respond. It is hard saying no to many who just wish to have a friend.

How do you tastefully make it clear that no reply is needed? I am having a hard time coming up with a nice way to say it.

Well if the DoC doesn't require it, just leave you return address off the envelope. If you do have to provide an address, then say something like "I wanted to bring you a little cheer at this festive time of year ~ no need to respond, just pass the good feeling on"
