Default book club with pp

it was suggested by someone not long ago that it could be a fun idea to have a "book club" with your PP. mine actually just suggested this to me and we're about to start.

i thought it might be nice to share ideas of books you and your pp read?

i love reading about true crime and prisons, but obviously this is the last thing my pp is interested in. does anyone have a pp who DOES like reading prison books? (if anyone else does i recommend my current read, Marching Powder by by Thomas McFadden & Rusty Young).

Some with great discussion points:

The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova (my pp's suggestion).
The Reader by Bernhard Schlink
In the Lake of the Woods by Tim O'Brien

anyone?

Hi tears,
I think it's a great idea, and I hope that you and your PP have a fun time with it.
I don't think that I will do it, because I don't do that much reading any more (failing eyesight). :-(
As far as reading about crime and prison, you might be surprised at the number of prisoners who find it a facinating topic. One of my PPs says that it is hard to find any books on anything but. So it's hard to say what their interests might be.
Happy reading. :-)

OK what I did was ask both pp's questions of their likes & dislikes etc.... with 1 pp, we read sports & books on wildlife. My other pp & I discussed Patricia Cornwell's kay Scarpetta series & are now onto Harry Potter. Just find a topic & off you go...its alot of fun

Yes, i started w/ mine. Patricia Cornwell, and James Patterson are some of my favorites. I'm not big on romance or sci-fi and neither is he, so it works out. Oh Sandra Brown is very good too. have fun
