I have been checking out the postiing section and ads every now and then; and finally sent about 12 letters the day before "Xmas." I am now waiting for the first replies... Not sure how many men would write back to another man so we'll see. I avoided those that specifically asked for female responders. Now that I think back I realize that I did not quite check out the crimes as I shouldve. In reading some of the postings, it appears that the "D.R" houses higher risk inmates, if there's such as thing as high risk.
We'll see.....if I get any replies. I was honest and upfront in the letters with no particular agenda in mind other than to correspond

Wow, Cali...you really stepped out there with 12 letters. That's wonderful! It'll be interesting to see how many respond.

also, can i just say you should look past the crime and at the person you are writing to

Yes Ill reply all 12 letters. Over time and as I get more into the new semesters, it might be a bit more challenging to maintain the correspondence going.... But I gotta say.....there's something unique about writing a letter itself that one does not get thru other forms of communications....

It's great isn't it :-)
I love writing to my penpal and getting his letters.
