| On your letter ? Not necessary. But do put your name and address somewhere on your letter in case it gets separated from the envelope .. if you're hoping the inmate writes back, that is. :-) Good idea to put the inmate's name and ID # on each page of the letter. I use Word to compose my letters and have the name and ID # in the header in a smaller font and 50% gray color. Put your full name and address on the envelope. I've read that some prisons will reject the letter if you don't do that. |

| Hi Pentagram, I wrote my return address under my signature for about the first 4 weeks or so. By then, I figured that my PP must have had it written down, somewhere. :-) But . . I always put my PP's name, ID No. and address on the top left of the very first page of my letters. I just figure that "if ever" the envelope gets destroyed, and the letter survives, then they will know who to send it to. My brother works in the post office, and believe me, envelopes do get destroyed. Some machines were invented specifically to do that. :-)
