Well, there are those who will marry one, divorce him, then marry another. Then there's the kind that has one love, he gets executed, then she gets another and will repeat the cycle. Then you have the ones that are so blinded by their infatuation that they'll miss blatant guilt and insist he be released. Then you have the ones that are drawn to the fact that this guy is a cold-blooded psychopath.

    So many stories.

Oh, I forgot this part here.

Now, I will bad mouth the legal system as much as the next guy, but you have some of these extreme groupies that go a bit overboard, mainly bashing the prison itself. Nothing Polunsky can do is right. Now, I'm not saying that Polunsky is like the Ritz Carlton, but...

When I went for my first visit I met a lady there at the check in point. It was a Saturday night and we both had our visits from 8-10pm. We both got there around 7:30 (super early, but that was because I didn't know how far away the prison was from my hotel). We checked in and the COs who were doing the patdowns and stuff told us to just go outside or back to our cars if we wanted to since we had to wait for everyone from the last visit to leave and for them to bring the guys out. No problem! Well this woman went off like a damn maniac. It wasn't a big freaking deal! Then she started ranting about everything, from how the COs treat the visitors like trash (never experienced that) to how the warden is a tyrant. All because the COs needed to clear the visiting room before we went back there. It was crazy!

And not discounting some of the stories that come from the row - about torture and whatever else. But I'm pretty sure a lot of those are really exaggerated. I only say this because I've written to two guys so far and neither one ever told me about this torturous atmosphere and whatnot. Maybe because they learned that they can survive a cold shower, or they learned how to ration their commissary so they don't go hungry if they don't like what they've been fed, or they learned how to finish cooking their uncooked food with their hotpot, or they learned how to clean their cell and wash their clothes or how to not cause so much animosity with the staff to where they're thrown into a room with nothing. It burns me when I see how people are suckered into a lot of things. Not only that, but when you have some of these guys writing about nothing but the "torture" all so they can get sympathy in the form of money.

Yeah..... That was part of one of my Texas death row rants. Sorry.

This reminds me of the woman who where in the news in Germany.

She married an Inmate from DR. But she couldnīt marry him in person. There had to be a replacement for him because she isnīt allowed in prison anymore.

It is said that she tried to smuggle a mobile phone for him into prison. She denies it but I guess there must be good proof because she is forbidden to even visit him.

The woman in your rant sounds really crazy. Whatīs the deal with waiting a few minutes before going in?

the whole cell phone fiasco got tons of people banned from visitation. it didn't matter if they were smuggling them in or not - if the people on the outside was helping pay for the phones or SIM cards they got smacked with a visitation ban. some even had all contact cut off - meaning no letters either.

that's just it! there was no problem! she was a very nice lady but wow! at first i chalked it up to her being super tired (she had just gotten in from the UK and went straight to the prison from the airport), but when i saw her at the hotel the next day (we stayed at the same place) she was still going on and on about it. not only that but she started giving me "tips" on how to handle the COs and all kinds of stuff. then after our monday visits? this woman stopped me in the parking lot to start fussing some more. R had mentioned to me that after our saturday visit they wouldn't let him take a shower (all inmate movement stops at 10pm) so he had to wash up in his sink. it wasn't a travesty. but this woman? yelling! "they wouldn't let tony take a shower after we were finished with our visit saturday!!! can you believe that!!! how can they not let a man have a shower??? this is insane!!! i'm calling the warden when i get back to the room!!!"

Yes, I'd hate to see inmates only being able to communicate with people that they knew before then went into prison.

That would suck for most inmates too because most of the people they knew outside of prison dont stay in contact.

I really hope that woman didnt calll the warden when she got back to her room, i doubt it was a big deal for the guy not having a shower, as they would all gladly give up anything to get a visit. I think well i know with my fat mouth i would of had to say something to that woman that moxie met, like the english woman i met once who i had to politly and quietly put her on her ***. they poop me off lol

I never did ask her if she called the warden. If I were to guess I would think that she did. She just came across as the type that would, and her husband or whatever he is to her is more than likely the type to have her call for every single little thing. I just can't get over some of the people, inside and out, that make huge deals out of small things. When R told me he didn't get his shower that night I felt bad because I know how he hates missing a shower. He said it wasn't a big deal - he much preferred the company over getting stuck in a shower for an hour. Some of the things these women raise hell about are crazy. "He was thrown in a cell with nothing but his clothes!" Well, what did he do to warrant it? "He is being fed uncooked hot dogs in his bag during lockdown!" Inform him that he can finish cooking them in his hot pot. The food issue.... I don't know. For some reason that bothers me. R always tells me about the food they feed them, but never to complain about it. More to make fun of it. He's quite innovative and will come up with his own concoction using whatever they give him. I'd venture to say they all do it.

Well.... This thread went from mail to something totally different, huh?

Back on topic? I didn't get mail yesterday. Last mail I got was sent out by him on 4/30, and I got it on 5/5. He sends something every Monday so I haven't gotten last week's mail. Might be in the box today. Who knows.
