Red face Wrote my first DR inmate

Thanks in due to the support from this board, I just signed and sealed my first communication to a DR inmate. I worked hard on it, I think its my best first-letter yet. I'll let you know if and when I hear back! I'm a little nervous, but I spent A LOT of time looking for just the right person, and I think I picked just the right one - the letter flowed like water and I feel more excited than worried or nervous.

I thought about writing to a DR inmate. I am just afraid I cannot be what he/she needs. It takes someone special to be able to deal with the challenges (I am assuming this) that comes with writing to a DR inmate. I'm glad you took the leap for lack of better words, I'm sure it will be such a rewarding experience!!! Let us know how it goes!

Yes, good for all of you that do write to the death row inmates. I don't feel strong enough to do it either.

    *ahem*

as the self-appointed WAP death row ambassador ( ) who has convinced many people to write to someone on death row let me just take this time to, first of all, give DenverGirl a big YAY! i always get so happy when i hear people write to death row.

i also want to say to those of you who think you're not strong enough you'd be surprised how strong you really are. i know a lot of people are wary of writing given the sentence but it's such a rewarding experience for all involved, you and the prisoner alike.

I would love to be a pen pal for a DR inmate. I have written several letter over the past 6 weeks to a young man in Nevada, but he hasn't replied to any of them. Can anyone offer me advice on how to go about writing a DR inmate, as I am now so concerned that it is my style of writing that he doesn't like. Or should I just move on and find another DR pen pal?

Maybe he hasn't gotten your letters yet?

I know of a couple of people on the row in Texas who are looking for pen pals. Both have been vetted by my friend so I know they're legit! PM me if interested.
