Default How is everyones Death Row experiences?

Hello guys just wondering what everyone's Death Row experiences are..?
Are you glad that you brought a glimmering of light to there life's?
I wrote to one in Texas which at first he was really nice and stuff but I introduced my misses and let her write to him, but he basically sent her a dodgy like sex letter :/. She is a very private person so she found it horrible and disturbing, but before this we really enjoyed writing to him. She doesn't want to talk to him anymore but I do but I'm going to tell him that what he's said is not on. How would you tell him?
    Thanks.

That's pretty disrespectful sending a sex letter to your wife (or whatever the misses is.) Knowing full well that was your wife and doing that...? I don't know that's I'd bother continuing a relationship, myself. I don't treat people special because they're on death row. Still have to be respectful with writing otherwise what's the point? You don't get a pass to be disrespectful just because you're on DR.
I let go of a person on death row because of increasingly disturbing/mentally unstable letters.

Well, I had a penfriend with a life sentence (not DR, but it's kind of similar) and he bragged to me about how he had shown my picture (a NORMAL picture) to all of his homies and how they were talking about my "mountains". Well, this already didn't go to well with me because I always state in my first letter that I'm not into that kind of rubbish. The next letter I got was practically a "rape" letter and that was it. I replied in my own Moonlampje way (with a lot of "what the F were you thinking" and "how effing humiliating"), but he sent that letter back. With a tiny note stating that: hey, he's a guy and I should deal with that and he wanted an apology and why I didn't say anything posotive about the rest of his letter.
Needless to say that I told him that I wasn't gonna take anything back and I wished him all the best of luck in finding a new penfriend.

Just because they are in prison doesn't mean they can disrespect you and you have all the right to tell him that. No matter how much you enjoyed writing him, he has no right to cross any of your boundaries.

Here's my Christmas Jitters Fanfiction in the making. Would love some feedback:

Whoa! A good example of a manipulator and why we don't need or want those in our lives: in prison, out of prison, anywhere.

Gotta ask you, Quack: If one of your male friends in your neighborhood approached your wife and made vulgar sexual overtures to her, would you seriously keep that guy as a friend?

I don't think personally that I'd be able to continue writing after this.

It's one thing to write a letter to you of a sexual nature which you can reject or state your boundaries in respect of but to write one to your wife who you introduced as an additional "friend" to him. I won't tolerate disrespect to any of my friends or family. I'm probably more protective of them than of myself so for me it would be a no go.

I've had ups and downs with PP's but not that and they have not been disrespectful. Had a couple of "tantrums" thrown but not over anything like that. Once I've nipped those in the bud, with whichever approach I took, "no that's not the case..." or "you crossed a line with me", they responded fine and there's been no issues going forward.

If you decide to continue writing, on this one you know your PP best. I guess it's either the "don't do that ever again or we're done" or the gentler approach of "I was disappointed... etc."

What about your wife? She must be pretty annoyed that you would keep writing after that, no?

I'm sorry to hear about your negative experience, QuackLOL. I think you should be straight up honest with him. He has no right to disrespect your wife like that and he needs to know that as well.
I haven't experienced anything distrubing or negative yet. I have 2 pen pals, both on Death Row. They are very respectful and I really enjoy writing to them. I'm a little bit younger than both of them and both of them treat me more like a little sister. They just love to give me any advice, if I ask for it or not haha. It can be challenging from time to time, but I gained so much out of having these pen pal relationships.

What horrible experiences.... So I am glad to tell, that "my three guys" NEVER said or did something like that. The opposite, they all are kind and sweet to me, without any sexual things. If they would do something like this, i would quit directly our contact.

I don't understand why you would want to continue writing to a man who was disrespectful of wife when there are many, many other inmates to write to.
