I want to send one of my pp's a book that I think will really help with. Its called the secret. I'm going to use amazon and i've searched for the paper back books but none seem to be in sight.

I looked at the doc site and couldnt find anything.

I was wondering if they are allowed hard back books.

as far as i know, the louisiana DOC allows hardback books, but you might want to confirm that with the mailroom before sending. i've sent hardback books to angola so i don't see why it would be a problem going to DWCC.

See... I KNEW you would know...

Most DOCs allow hardback books but the inmates would prefer not to have them because they are bulky and take up a lot of space. Plus the cost issue - my man always says that for the cost of a hardback book he'd rather I sent a few paperbacks. But he's in seg and has nothing to do other than to read. No work. No TV. No rec yard. No dayroom.
