Does anyone live in Wisconsin? My lovely man is incarcerated in the Columbia Correctional Institute and I would love to be able to visit him. Do any of you have a spare room and would be prepared to show me around or can you recommend a motel. I have been told the the Super 8 motel is clean and friendly, but do you know how far and how easy it is to get from there to the prison?

Any suggestions anyone, I will be travelling from Northern Ireland and then England.

Do any of you have Pen Pals with a fantastic talent of writing poetry?

I am compiling a book of short stories and poetry to help incarcerated men and women. I am a published author of three books and am prepared to self publish the book to allow the royalties to be paid into each inmates individual accounts to help them with postage etc. I would need 3 poems (they can be free verse) from each person to make it worth my while.

Let me have your views and ideas please and hopefully something will come of this. I have two names in the hat already and require 10 more. I must have all entries by 1st February 2013 and the guys would need to sign an agreement that they are prepared to share the revenue with the others whose writing appears in the book. If this is successful, I may consider doing another one.

I live in Northern Ireland and have done everything in my power to connect with him. I have an American local number from localphone, I have an account with Correctional Billing, but I can't add any money to it. Why, are you sitting comfortably, I will begin?

Firstly, for weeks I tried to open an account with Correctional billing, but didn't have an American zip code, then along came my man's friends woman who telephoned me with an American address. Bingo, or so I thought. I spoke with correctional billing again and then, "you have to have an debit card with an American address, mine is an Irish address. Then, I contacted Walmart for a prepaid debit $ card, all was great until "social security number wanted" mine is English. OK, then I purchased a pre-paid $ card from Virgin and everything was fine. After opening the account I spoke with one of their customer advice members to ask if I could give the number of my new card to Correctional Billing to use. The answer was a big no no. Why? The legal system between the two countries does not allow it unless I am in America with my passport of proof to who I am.
I have an American telephone number with localphone which is live, but it is of no use to my man without credit being placed on it for him to use. He is in a federal state prison so cannot buy a pre-paid card, which I sent him the money for before I was told that he can't use it. I don't mind about that at all as he can use the money for a treat or something that he needs.

I am now so upset, and sad that I cried myself to sleep last night after yet another attempt by him to phone me. Please if anyone can help, I would be very grateful. Are D and I destined never to speak. I am so afraid of losing him as our love has grown in strength, but we really need the intimacy of a phone call now. Nette

I then put $10 credit on my account and thought, "yes, yes here we go baby". The prison in WI called me to say that it all checked out and that a note had been passed to my baby to allow him to call me. Great, or so I thought. Hmmm phone call came with an automated message and his name was read out, "Hi baby, how are you I shouted" all excited "Hey baby" was his reply and then an automated message to sign up for a prison billing service, huh. It took 8 minuets of trying to deal with this and then nothing. So I re-read all my letters for D's suggestions and tried to call the number he gave me for Correctional billing .com. What a farce, they would not accept my number calling them. Then I tried to e:mail them and my computer is not compatible with one of their programmes, so I can't make contact with them. I can open an account to speak with an inmate in Texas, yes!!! but not in Wisconsin.

Guys I have been trying to send a small payment to my friend in Wisconsin by Western Union for over two weeks now. Are you sitting comfortably lol I will begin. My friend sent me an official information leaflet from Western Union were he has received money on several occasions from his step brother without any problems. My first problem, I can not send money via internet because I live in the UK, so they mailed me with a phone number to contact with my friends details assuring me that everything would go like clockwork.:uhh:

I have tried the phone number twice now and gone through the full process of sending the money until they inform me that WIDOC is no receiving money for prison inmates at the moment, What!!

Can anyone tell me how to send a money order, do I need a special form from my friend to accompany this or can I just send it direct to him? I am so sad people. Help. I am asking you all to share your tray bake recipes with me as I am hoping to bake for a craft fair to try and raise funds for my PP on death row. He is desperate for a TV and is going stir crazy after being incarcerated for 19 years already. I want to bake for an indoor market stall once a week, so all ideas are truly welcome.

Also anyone with interesting recipes for preserves/ jelly and chutney. I have an apple tree in the garden and a gooseberry bush and lots of the lovely elderflower shrubs around the fields. Tips please.

I have been writing to a PP for three months now, my original one from another site, and I think I am falling in love. This guy is so charming, writes me poetry with every letter. Shares his heart with me, although not his crime because I have said I don't really want to know. It is nothing concerning the death or rape of anyone. He too has started to feel the same way, but as he says "it is not uncommon for a man dying of thirst to fall in love with the first one who gives him water." He really has his head screwed on, and I fully agree with his thoughts. But, come on, I am not depending on anyone for a life line and this is so stupid.
Will someone please talk some sense into me before I get hurt?

Hi everyone, I have been writing to a guy in W.S.P.F Boscobel for a couple of months now, but I am uncertain of what I am reading about the prison. Sometimes, all the things I read are that this Supermax prison was set up to house the most difficult to handle prisoners in the state. Other things I have read is that this prison houses a great many inmates who are suicidal, or with mental issues. My PP is very well educated, and has a very endearing personality, yet I can find no information about his crime in the public domain. Each time I try, I am blocked. Does this mean that his crime is so horrendous as not for public viewing, or am I looking in the wrong place? I don't want to ask my pp directly just yet. I know I am being a coward, but I am afraid of what I may hear. Anyone else know anything about this Supermax prison in WI? Any help would be appreciated.
