Friendship and Advice Wanted Please.

Death Row Inspiration

Hi everybody.

My PP is on death row in Ely State Prison. He recently wrote to me to ask if I could help his to purchase a TV. He has nor family or friends in touch with him and no job, or any other way to get the money for a TV. I was thinking about organising a raffle to see if I could get the money up for him. I make jewellery in my spare time, and would be willing to donate some home made and designed jewellery along with anything else I can do. Does anybody else have any ideas or inspiration to share with me.

Hi Nette, Welcome to WAP. You could do raffle off baked goods along with the jewelery.

Hello Nette.

This has worked for me and my penpals, but you have to be humble and bold at the same time.

Make a placard saying something like: "Comfort for a death-row prisoner", stick a photo' of your penpal to it.
Hang the placard around your neck, and take a basket to a Catholic Church, just as Mass is getting out on a Sunday morning.
Stand steadfast, and raise the basket to everyone who passes you. Answer questions honestly.

Hints: Read Matthew 25: 31-45 before you go
Seed the basket with a couple of small notes, a few large coins.

You can raise funds for TV, Radio or mp3 player in half an hour.
