"Feedback is a pleasant thing. I get a lot of letters from unexpected people in unexpected places." Brian Aldiss
Well, I'm in the infernal circle again!
Aftter I sent my letter to B. I know I'll have to wait weeks before her reply.
Fortunately, I found out in a WAP thread, a tip from a poster which indicates how to send free postcards with personal pictures.
I jumped on the opportunity, and send a lot of my photos to B. -Pictures of me, my hometown, my dogs, humor cards...-
At this point I didn't receive anything from the others inmates I wrote to. One of her has her birthday coming; I send her a birthday card as well.
I know by now it could be different reasons that she/they can't reply: whether she is not interested in me, or she doesn't have the money to reply - the costs of stamps is outrageously high outside U.S. ( I came to know that it could be up to $2.00 in certains states) and for someone who earns statepay( $ 0.42) it could be hard to afford it-
Considering these inmates will not answer me, an idea pop up to my mind: "Why don't I use this media to introduce myself to another inmate?" which I did. T. is the one I decided to write a postcard. So every day, I'm writing up to 10 postcards both to B. and T. -one sleepless night, I even wrote to B. up to 43 cards in a row! (Picturing the warden in mail room was making me so laugh!!!). Oh and I made a special point to my PP's that it is a promotion, it is free, and infortunately, it won't last forever as they could not be dissappointed when it come to stop.
The fact is that with this poscard thing, the cards get faster to them -within three days. T. replied me and I got her letter within a week.
-By the way as in this B.B. King song I would say when I received that second letter - the first from T.- "The thrill is gone" (I didn't felt that excitment I felt when I received the first letter- still I was happy the same.
In the meantime, I come every day here and found some valuable friends and acquaintances. Good jokes and intellectual exchanges with Silas, laughters with Xtina, DanteV, Franconia an Stellar. Interesting point of view of Gooddog and Moxiebravo, support and encouragment from Thebluestar and Sunray's wench, among others. I would like to thank all of you in general and them particularly.
But here is the thing I call "Crossroad". I said in a previous entry that if I wasn't looking for love I didn't close the door either.-No I'm not going to tell you I'm already in love with one of my PP's!-I'm fast, but not that fast!
The thing is that an exchange of PM's made me come to know someone here on WAP!(No I won't enter details-you naughty readers!!)
And what it was started like a joke come to be more intimate. I won't say I'm in love, I say I'm on the path to. And extraordinarily it happens that this feeling is shared. I remember the subtitle of my thread here "From scratch, the diary of an absolute beginner and his quest for the unapproachable star"
Well it seems that I find a Star after all. But this is another story...
