I received my first letter from my Penpal today. I was so excited. Luckily I sent her a card the day after I sent the initial email. As we know, they claim to deliever the emails on the 4th and 20th. well I wrote that email in March and sent the card in March. She got the card and replied to me from that. She stated she have not been receiving anything from WAP. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I'll update since I just sent out a couple to 2 pp I chose recently. It's a shame that would happen since it really defeats it's purpose.

Now I'm wondering if I should've just sent out a letter to begin with anyways.

Quick question, how long has it been since you wrote the email and the date it was supposed to go out?

Maybe the site has a large load of emails to print, stamp, and ship?

"As we know, they claim to deliever the emails on the 4th and 20th. "

No they don't. If you read the terms and conditions, you will see that the emails are printed and sent off on the 4th and the 20th. There is no way to garuantee when they will arrive at the prisons, or how long it will take for the inmates to respond.

Manny Fresh, you might be better off just sending a letter right off the jump. I wrote the letter toward the end of March, she wrote me back on April 10 dated on the letter. I'm not sure what day she got it. However, it's still pretty fast considering I'm deployed to the Middle East and the letter went to Illinois....... sunrays's wench, you did nothing but repeat what I just said. I said they claim to deliver the emails on the 4th and 20th. I never said anything about the inmates actually getting the letters on that day. So you wasted time, by proving nothing.

Why waste time proving nothing. You pasted my words and tried to clarify something that didn't need clarifying. I never said the inmates get the letters on the 4th and 20th. Those are the days they deliver them out from their office.

You said "they claim to deliver" and that statement is wrong.

You then said "Those are the days they deliver them out from their office." and that statement is also wrong.

They SEND them on the 4th and 20th. WAP doesn't deliver anything. When something is delivered, it is given to the recipient. Look it up in a dictionary if you don't believe me. After WAP sends out the printed emails, they are still at the mercy of UPS, regardless of where they are going to.

Why waste your time responding to me if you don't agree?

If you don't want comments, don't post where people can respond.

I have no doubt that Writeaprisoner posts when it says it does.
But remember that mode is only for your first letters. Beyond that you are subject to the vagaries of UPS and other postal services.
Believe me, you've not seen vagaries until you start a regular correspondence between Beaumont, Texas, and Sydney, Australia.
My penpal gets about every third letter to me back to him because there is no valid zip code. UPS seems to fail to realise that Australian postcodes have four digits. About once every two months, I get a letter with a message stamped on it indicating that it has been to Austonia, Texas on its way to me. Onetime, a letter came via Austria! And the vagaries do not stop once the letter touches down in the Antipodes. I am less than two miles from both the international airport and the central letter handling facility (SWLF). SWLF franks every letter with the date that is processed by them. It can be anything up to ten days for the letter to make that final couple of miles of its journey.

Please, let's not bicker. If you want to bicker, do it with the postal services.
