I am so sorry to hear about your son. It is a difficult pill to swallow. It breaks your heart and and, I would guess, if he is guilty, it would anger you at the same time. Nonetheless, as his mother, you must be going through great many turmoils, but believe me, guilt should not be one of those feelings.
We do all we can for our children and then we have to let them decide their own life. It hurts to watch them do things that we know is not the best decision for them. They have to learn their way and their own lessons just as we did.
My son is in prison also and he is now 22 years of age. it breaks my heart as well.
25 years is a very long time. I hope you are able to visit and to write and have phone conversations with your son. It will benefit both you and him.
