Participants Needed for a Clinical Research Project
Name of Study: Women and Their Romantic Attachments to Incarcerated Men
Purpose of Study: To understand the Attachment Style of women who choose to become romantically involved with men in prison. The information gathered from all participants in the study will be used to generate theories about the etiology of women who choose romantic involvement with incarcerated men and to determine if they exhibit common characteristics, attachment styles or other commonalities.

Specific Requirements of Participants: Participants must be heterosexual female ages 18 and older of any race/ethnicity/religious affiliation/economic status. Participants must have either been in a relationship with an incarcerated male for at least one year or are currently involved with an imprisoned male. The relationship must have started while the man was in prison and no affiliation prior to incarceration can have occurred.
Type of Activity Involved: Participants will be involved in a face-to-face audiotaped interview. Questions will be open ended allowing for participants to share their experiences as they deem appropriate.
Approximate Length of Time: Time is dependent on individual’s response style. However, the average length of time is estimated at 45-90 minutes.
