Asha the ammonia was used to bring him back to conscious because he was beat for 30 mins.

Fumes from ammonia can be toxic if they are allowed to build up. Used as a smelling salt it is ideal because it is a small quanty, and most times used in a well ventilated or outdoor area such as outside or a facitlity like nursing homes are hospital settings.
