Hello,

Thank you for taking time out of your day for getting to know me a little better.  My name is James E. Bates; the E is for Edward.  As a child I would put the word King in front of my name to make it sound like royalty: King James Edward Bates the II!!! 

Let me start off by describing myself honestly and accurately.  I am a ½ White, ½ Hispanic gentleman from Las Vegas, Nevada.  I was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Vegas.  My mother is from Cali, Colombia and my father’s an Italian/Irish New Yorker from Brooklyn.  I’m 6 feet, give or take, depending on what shoes I’m wearing.  LOL  My hair is brown and I have hazel/green eyes, weigh in around 205.  I speak Spanish, English and a little Italian. 

Despite all the trouble I’ve been in, I’ve lived a very exciting life.  I’ve done many things and I’ve been on many adventures, about which I am writing a book.  I like and enjoy many things but what I enjoy most are the following.  I study and practice mixed martial arts such as Wing Chun Kung Fu and Muay Thai Boxing – mixed in with Akido, Judo and Gracie Style Nogi Jiujitsu. 

I love the American pit bull terrier for its extreme athletic ability.  I like the Pittsburgh Steelers, the New York Yankees and the Miami Heat in sports.  I like music but I love salsa music from the 70’s.  I enjoy reading books on ancient cultures and, of course, martial arts.  My favorite things to do when I’m out and about are things like major sporting events for MMA, boxing and other martial arts events and salsa clubs.  I also like to travel, along with camping and other nature related adventures.

All in all I’m a good person who never woke up on the wrong side of the bed.  I like people and I’m always the never-ending optimist.  I have a really good sense of humor as well.  I’m reliable, dedicated, devoted and goal oriented.

I’ve met many people in my life and I’ve been told that I am the coolest person they ever met.
