I am an innocent man sentence to Life Without Parole because I asked for a jury trial and am still fighting for my freedom after 12 years.
There were several factors that contributed to my wrongful conviction, including the novice judge who was a former state attorney and allowed the over-zealous prosecutor to play fast and loose with the facts and evidence.
The DNA evidence that was available was never tested.
And, there were 24 solid alibi witnesses (teachers, bankers, government agents, doctors, attorneys, realtors, contractors, and even a former sheriff plus various friends and relatives who would've testified that I was over 1,000 miles away (in South Carolina) when the crime occurred (in South Florida) but my court-appointed attorney didn't call a single witness.
Not one witness pointed at me being the villain. My fingerprints were not found on the murder weapons, nor was there any DNA evidence implicating me. There was no confession to a jailhouse snitch - just a ham actor playing a prosecutor who managed to bamboozle the jurors with carnival tricks and mislead them with smoke and mirrors, telling them that I was guilty of setting a fire (a crime that I was never charged with) therefore I must be guilty of murder.
Meanwhile my court-appointed attorney just sat there in a daze.
I am seeking legal help but will accept friendship, supporters and donations to help retain an investigator or an attorney.
My story will be appearing in soon in the justice denied magazine, www.justicedenied.org.
