I am a federal inmate currently being housed at U.S.P. McCreary, serving a life sentence for 12.4 kilograms of cocaine with no felony criminal background. Therefore I am writing in hopes that any organization or individual will take the time to listen to the tragic injustices that my family and I have been put through and go to Youtube and check out the videos that I have posted there.  Just type in Police Brutality or Government Misconduct and then type in my name, Martin Valdez.  You will be absolutely amazed!!

I have posted a video produced by the DEA and Chicago Area Police Department in which Federal Agents order my murder for no reason. I also have a video showing myself being savagely beaten with a magnum flashlight over 20 times by the Chicago Police Department and Lake County Major Crimes Task Force. This beating was ordered by a Chicago DEA agent; the same agent that ordered me to be shot (I could have been killed) in the other video.

It is my sincere hope that someone will view these videos and be interested in contacting me!

I'm sure you have heard it a 1000 times that, "I'm innocent!", so, what I will do is prove it to you if you will give me a chance. No way am I saying that I am perfect or that I have never done anything wrong or made a mistake, or committed a crime because God knows I have. What I am saying is that I am truly innocent of the crime in which I am convicted of and locked up for right now. Like the saying goes, "The proof is in the pudding!". So please try the pudding and tell me what it tastes like. I guarantee it will leave the foulest taste in your mouth, and a feeling of amazement, disgust, and straight horror. There is no doubt you will be left scratching your head, wondering how all this happened to this man without anyone doing anything about it.

In fact there is so much that I don't even know where to start. I would say the most damaging evidence I have against the Government is their own video recording. On the video you clearly hear DEA Agent B. ordering another agent, Detective R., to murder me and anyone with me in cold blood for no reason when I exited my home. The video was never turned over during trial. Therefore, I could not cross-examine and impeach the testimony of agent B., who was the lead agent on my case. This is the agent that beat every single witness and informant in my case and where the evidence and testimony came from that resulted in my life sentence. So, I don't have to tell you how important this piece of favorable evidence was and is.

To make matters worse when the government finally turned the tapes over 10 months later, the tape had been altered and edited. The first video the government gave us had the sound, date, and time removed. When I insisted that the attorney go view the original it had the sound, date, and time . Now here's something that will probably make you laugh but, has made me cry for the last 9 years. The AUSA said he was sorry that somebody must have made a mistake altering the video and not turning it over before trial. I guess he must have forgotten his obligation and code of ethics of being an attorney.

There is also something else very important about this video. It disproves the whole government case and timeline they presented at trial. To make it short, the government had their witness testify on 11/19/02 that he turned in approximately 16-kilograms of cocaine. The lead agent testified that he recovered it on that date 11/19/02. Now, here is the huge discrepancy: the original tape that my attorney went and saw has the date of 10/15/02, an entire month earlier. The date matches the DEA-6-report of a different informant turning in cocaine, which would make everyone's testimony false. It is not just the video tape that was not turned in during trial; there are about 7 other exculpatory videos that were never turned over during trial. All these videos were said to have never existed, mysteriously found 10 months after trial and then given to me.

These videos range from police harassment to a DEA agent pulling a shotgun out on my son and me, to the police beating me in the head with a flashlight over 20 times for not using a turn signal coming out of a gas station. What makes the beating incident so interesting is, before I was pulled over the police had already called a truck to have my car towed, then I was pulled over by three squad cars at the same time. After I was beaten by all three officers for asking why I was being pulled over, I was then taken to the hospital. At the hospital Officer R. stated to me that he and all the other officers were ordered by DEA Agent B. to harass me, pull me over and beat me because I was a wetback-drug-dealer. There was no danger or immediate threat to the safety of the officers; at no time did I resist arrest. There is no explanation except that these officers then schemed and conspired to have me falsely convicted of a drug conspiracy, for what I am currently serving a life sentence.

This is not the first time that I have made this complaint or have tried to notify someone of the injustice that has occurred.

Don't take my word for it!! My words are not based on mere speculation but, videos, affidavits, lawsuits, and medical evidence. Videos do not and cannot lie!

Because of the illegal (and sometimes racist) behavior of the officers, my wife has been left alone to raise our two children, one of which is autistic and requires care 24 hour a day.

My hope is that someone will take interest in this horrible situation my family and I have been put through because of these racist officers and help us. If this case doesn't call for justice I don't know what does! Like I said, everything I have written in this legal profile is backed up by legal documentation and videos in which some of it you can view on my Facebook page, or on YouTube.

My one true prayer is that someone will listen to this tragic injustice and help me get home to my children and family by investigating into these corrupt Chicago police officers and DEA agents, which lead to my wrongful conviction.
