Please read in full before e-mailing a prisoner:
Thank you for your interest in e-mailing a prisoner.
While writing directly to the prisoner is still the fastest and most private way to communicate, we will
print and send your first message as long as you include a physical return address where the prisoner can
write you back. Please be sure to read the following information in full before you send your first
message.
|
-
We will only forward your first message. If you already know
the prisoner, please write them directly. A return postal address must be enclosed or
the email will be discarded. Inmates do not have email access.
-
This service will discard e-mails containing the same generic
reply to multiple inmates. This is especially directed at the female inmates where this
tends to be the largest problem.
-
These messages are printed and sent every 2 weeks. It may
take some time to hear back from the prisoner you are writing.
-
When writing a prisoner, please include a little about
yourself. For example, we will discard all messages that don't have a message. e.g. -
nothing more than an address. Tell them a little about you so they feel they have
something to reply to.
-
Female Inmates - Most of our female members are
already receiving a significant amount of mail. They average 20 times more visitors on
their web pages than male members and receive a great deal of mail. When you write them
directly instead of sending an email, your chances of receiving a response are greatly
improved. Also, and this is important, don’t think that the more female inmates you
write, the better chance you have of hearing back from them. When you write multiple
female inmates in one institution, they usually find out what you are doing and won't
reply.
Please be sure you have read and understand
our disclaimer before e-mailing prisoners:
