Salutations, my name is Derrick. I’m the Founder of SmartistheNewGangster, a subculture especially of ex-street individuals who are devoted to elevating their mind and hustle beyond criminal thinking.

My interests include songwriting and creating screenplays.  When I’m released this September I plan to attend FullSail University for Film Production. I maintain a healthy diet/workout to reflect what the SmartistheNewGangster finished product looks like.

It’s all about changing the way we eat, think, and treat each other. To that aim, this profile will be offering SmartistheNewGangster ‘Love Blog’, that redefines “How to Love” using emotional intelligence?!  Each blog post cost me $15.00 and I’m seeking minimal $1 donations for its creation/maintenance.

I believe that finding real friendships/relationships means first giving real love to ourselves. And I believe that when we give real love to ourselves we will not settle for less than a real and fulfilling relationship.  So it’s a circle. As you give love out its received and reciprocated—and it grows.  That’s the beauty of it. Love is an energy.  You can feed it to the people, and they in turn, feed it to others and eventually it comes back to nurture you.

In this circle, we must decide whether we’re willing to have the courage to battle for something other than the usual, and in so doing, realize the battle is to tame our own hearts and to allow ourselves to be loved.
