To a Pen Pal:
When the sun is brightly shining, you are there.
When I search for “silver linings”, you are there.
When there’s hurt and there’s pain, when there’s a storm
And when there’s rain, my heart can feel it – “clear and plain”
And you know you’re there.
Ladies,
I’m entering this ad with hopes of connecting with someone who is willing to look beyond my present incarcerated state in order to experience the progression and maturity which have transpired in my life over the last 13 years. My value system towards life, people and community has changed tremendously. Life being something that we get only once chance at has come to be viewed in my eyes as the most precious gift known to humanity.
Today I am seeking the opportunity of using the wisdom which has come forth while enduring this present journey; for I truly believe that I possess a healing agent which can restore many. People have been taught or brainwashed into viewing men behind these walls as animals who possess no true worth. But I’ve come to view our creator in a way where I can identify with the fact that, like many humans today, God stores away his most precious treasures until that appointed time when they can bring him glory. But not before they have been cut and polished so that roughness can be removed. So they can finally be to his satisfaction.
