Being part of a network where people share their thoughts and experiences is invaluable to me. I especially enjoy exchanging ideas with people who may have journalistic, literary or creative interests. Writing while listening to classical music or jazz has been a therapeutic tool for me and it is now a fundamental part of my future. I’m hoping to eventually write or edit articles and stories worthy of publication. Although my access to media is limited, I try to stay informed about current events, economics, education, human behavior, cinema and literary techniques. I’m even learning some Spanish.
After being a tutor here for over 4 years, helping motivated inmates with their GED studies and beyond, I’ve been able to recognize the essential need many people have to understand how “legitimate” society functions. Through sharing my experiences and business knowledge, I try to be a useful source of realistic examples about how contemporary culture operates. My younger friends find me to be a patient mentor with a good sense of humor and irony. I’m always keen to learn from others and am not resentful of constructive criticism, especially if it leads me to see the truth in a situation.
I send handwritten letters to all who contact me through WAP. Its email takes a few weeks to reach me BTW. However, we can eventually have the option of faster communication through accesscorrections.com email should that prove more efficient for us.
…Hope to hear from you soon.
All the best,
